Hot if on a budget thanks

It does make you wonder how they can produce them for such a low price.

You have only had a few mouthfuls of food since your last shift. You are forced to work from 8am until 1am with no breaks and only little water, a 17 hour working day. You aren’t allowed outside, nor are you allowed to make any phone calls to your family. You are 6 years old.The above is a harsh reality for too many children around the world, being forced into child labour in disgusting conditions, many of whom are only 5, 6 and 7 years old. Can you imagine your child being one of those? Neither can we, which is why The School Uniform Shop is proud to be a supporter and supplier of ethically produced school uniform. By purchasing our uniform you are helping to protect not only children but adults and vulnerable people from around the world. As a worker living in the United Kingdom you are entitled to a minimum wage, regular breaks, a suitable and safe working environment and reasonable working hours. So why is it so different in other countries? All of our ethical suppliers ensure their garments are produced in environments where all the above and more are met.1. No child labour is used in any of their factories2. Working conditions are safe, hygienic and of health & safety standard3. Working hours are not excessive and regular breaks are implemented4. Wages are of the industry / country norm and many workers receive work benefits5. Employment is freely chosen and NO person will be taken against their will / forced to work6. Factories undergo rigorous checks and audits to make sure they are a safe and secure structureWe are proud to say that our school-wear ticks all of those boxes and more.PLEASE try shopping for ethical items at places such as http://www.schooluniformshop.co.uk or ecoschools.

I don't think Aldi's factories will be any better or worse than the likes of Adsa, Tesco, Primark.

Great deal!

So me posting about Nike is a lot better than you posting about Unicef and then this? Surely?

This is the best uniform deal out there at the moment. I am sharing it as many families will be able to benefit from it. Personally I wont be getting this deal as it doesn't fit my requirement for uniform but I would buy it if it did. I don't understand why you had to roll up and start with the ethic's of how its made when it is no different from any other cheap uniform supplier.

Wow you totally missed the point there. Like, totally!

In what way, pray tell.....

The idea is they get you to come and buy this offer and at the same time buy loads more.... great for people that have never been to this supermarket before!

I posted originally an alternative website but have deleted my comments since. This site isn't the best place for ethics, I think we'll agree?

Your comment would have had more impact if only you hadn't previously proudly posted deals from companies with historically poor records for worker welfare...

Can you imagine your child being one of those? Neither can we, which is why The School Uniform Shop...... I AM GUESSING (JUDGING BY THE "WE") THE PERSON THAT POSTED THIS RUNS "THE SCHOOL UNIFORM SHOP?" This is a great deal, not everyone will like it, but it is the same as any deal on here. We could get ethical on every post... but why can't people see it for what it is, a great deal for parents! Well done OP!

See post 12. My argument wasn't with the terms of her post, it was more to do with the perceived hypocrisy of that user posting such a statement. Of course child/worker abuse is despicable but fact is should we all look around our house could anyone here guarantee every possession contained within their4 walls involved absolutely no child/worker exploitation in its manufacture?

My daughters trousers lasted the whole year very hot from me but got trousers for this year for Sept 2015 from Debhanams only £3.20 for a pack of 2 in sale so I've only got a blazer a and shoes to buy now ☺

Nope I don't own the School Uniform Shop, that was a post on their Facebook page, their most recent one.

Also, my post was a mere suggestion, if you reached the bottom that we should try to source ethically. And then a suggestion of two places to try. It was a 100% selfless post and I don't see why people are criticising it? I didn't **** off the original post, heck I know a lot of people I will pass on the information to, I merely offered an alternative suggestion. No bad intentions AT ALL. Like I said, just a comment.

Can we just have one deal where morons don't try picking it to pieces? If it helps someone, great. If it doesn't help you or fit with your moral code, fine. But really, don't bleat on about it. Nobody cares, and you're just making any useful comments hard to find.

Because they are rubbish quality and made in a sweatshop where workers are treated like s**t

last years quality was awful. the polo shirts became mis shapen and shrunk after a few weeks.
The trouser were ok but didnt last the whole term.

A bit on the small side so buy a size up but they're good!

fab deal!
