Thanks, OP! Great price for a 536g candle. I dislike the Yankee Home Inspirations 538g jar, which is hard to find under£10!

It will be interesting to see how they compare, and also the Home Bargains one that @zoe9804 has mentioned. I have a feeling you might be on a winner, and at 1/3 the cost!!

They aren't though are they?
Good post, heat added
Bought a black forest gateaux one earlier. Smells lovely, hope it's as strong when lit.
Great prices for large jars thanks!!

Yes that’s why I mentioned it. I can’t justify £15 for the same size jar and a lot less fragrance.
Wowza.

Wickford & Co - not sure if they still sell the Gingerbread variant but that's a great Xmassy one. Got their "Sunkissed Cherry" a few months ago and it smells amazing unlit. They were £2.99 for large 18oz candles, not sure if they still are?

This is an old picture of mine from over 2 years ago, their labels have changed since then38989692-8mGrX.jpgNew label38989692-D1JLF.jpgEdit: Actually, it still is £2.99 (this is when the Shoppix app comes in handy!)38989692-aWqQ6.jpgI love Aldi, don't get me wrong, but I'm wary this time around, as I fell for the Jo Malone-alike candle hype and they were pretty rubbish.

So to get free delivery I could order my candles then buy stuff I don't need to make it up to £50 for free delivery to home (let's say 20 packs of Duracel batteries and a drill)
Keep the candles and go into a Homebargins store at my leisure but before my refund deadline--- Bob's ya uncle & ya big sister Tina is actually ya Ma!...free delivery!
Thanks for sharing I will definitely be taking a trip to the local store heat added
Good find!

I read that comment thinking their Delivery options had changed, as I only ordered from the Aldi online store a few weeks ago.

You only need an order of £20 or more for Free Delivery. Not sure where you got £50 from?

Unless you're talking about Home Bargains, your comment is a bit confusing. If you are, the only Wickford & Co option they offer for sale online is the votive gift set
(only tried one of their votives - Strawberry-something, and it wasn't great)38993968-8fP8F.jpg

Really better then Yankee’s ?
I just found that buying cheap candles was failed economy as they don’t last as long as yankees but would be happy to try if they do last
Also they do not burn properly.
You end up with a hole in the middle and loads of candle left that you cannot burn. You need to keep cutting out the bits that dont burn or the candle just burns out. Home bargains, b&m, aldi etc, tried them all and I just use the asda pillar ones now. Yankees are bought when discounted as they are too pricey.

I got a few oval shaped Crackle wick candles from home bargains & althoughthey start burning a hole in the center they do eventually burn evenly about half way down . also the red berry one smells great ( only lasted about 5 nights though )

I buy candles for the smell not necessarily how long they last. I bought lots of the smaller yankees last year to see what the smell was like and found that it just didn’t give me any more fragrance, I let my candles burn for hours the one I have now (home bargains) has been lit at least 7 times and burned for at least 4 hours a time. There are some flavours I don’t like but the Christmas ones and vanilla ones give out a lot of fragrance in my opinion. But everyone to their own..

I don’t know if you can see this clearly but it burns fine
Really not fussed about ripping off other brands, are they?
Jar candle "tunnelling" as it's known, happens if you don't do a long first initial burn with your candle, it's almost like setting its "memory". From here
38996590-1GXc3.jpgAlso cutting the wick far too short can cause problems, as well.

Had no problems with Wickford & Co (and I've tried most of their scents) - I've found Lilly Lane jar candles (which were also £2.99 at Watt Brothers) can tunnel sometimes.

You can wrap tinfoil around the top with a little vent hole and this melts the surrounding wax more quickly, assuming it's not too deep. Be careful, as it can get hot when lit.

The foil doesn't need to be as precise as these diagrams (I make my air hole a bit smaller), but you get the gist.

You can also use a hairdryer, but I've never tried this method.38996590-PXj5g.jpg38996590-gDeYY.jpg

Might smell nice but you are polluting the inside of your house with particulates that are known to be harmful to health - dreadful idea if you have children.

Not that my wife listens to me.
Aldi sold similar a couple of years ago, good luck smelling them when lighted!

Lit mine for the first time last night. Have to say I was very impressed with the smell, stronger than some Yankee Candles I've had recently. I'll definitely be getting more.
Anyone know where I can get a scent like the happy holidays candle? Mine ran out recently after a good 120+ hours, but Aldi aren't stocking them any more. The smell on it was amazing, but I'm not sure what exactly the smell was, just that it was great.
