This is a nice lemon curd from Aldi. Used to be about £1.35 but yesterday it scanned at only 89p, so I picked up a second jar. It compares well to Tesco's Finest or Sainsbury's T.T.D. lemon curds which are about £1.60 a jar.

A member of staff said it's not a regular line ( I've bought it a few times and thought it was ) so it might not be available in all stores.

I love lemon curd, especially with croissants I havent tried this particular brand, Lidl used to do a nice one but its hit and miss when its available, and they havent had it for sometime now.
Some of the major supermarkets do their own special selected brands, however these are quite overpowering and way to tart. I have also tried Mrs Darlingtons and thats to sweet, although I did find a good brand manufactured by Wilkin and son, Tip tree, that seems to be quite balanced. I will have a look and give it a try, thanks for posting.
sorry but i did not rate it that high, yes it is tasty enough and a great deal for 89p but when you spread it out it looks almost translucent and not atol like the old fashioned lemon curd that spread almost like warm butter.

Tempted to make my own again but the problem with that is it gets used to quickly
I have this lemon curd and I love it, I will look to get a few if i can find any left. this is nice and liquidy and -TOP TIP- stir a small amount in porridge, makes a healthy breakfast nice and healthy.
This is very nice lemon curd, but boy is it runny. Good luck keeping it on your knife long enough to actually spread it!
Astoundingly easy and cheap to make Lemon Curd.

Better than anything that you can buy.
I’ve made a quite yummy lemon drizzle cake using this. Also added some to a basic cheesecake to give it a little pizzazz.
Good stuff baby indeed. Steal @ 89p.
Haven’t tried this but can thorough recommend the Tesco lemon cheesecakes (refrigerated, 3 pack) - very zesty when compared (living the dream me) to Sainsbury’s.

Yes, some years ago I used to make it - in bigger batches than the link you've given - but it took longer than 15 mins.!
I preferred to leave the finely grated lemon zest in the mixture. And, it's better to use unwaxed lemons, which are a bit more expensive than waxed.
Does anyone ever see Lemon Cheese spreads these days? Not seen a jar of this for decades.

As a child, we called it Lemon Cheese rather than Lemon Curd. I think the former was thicker and paler and more buttery.
An on-line search reveals you can still buy "Lemon Cheese" (although expensive!) and find recipes to make it. See ebay.co.uk/p/A…162
