GAK already had the cheapest price on these great little studio monitors but then dropped them another £5! This is probably due to getting rid of stock of the MK1 models which are being replaced by the MK2's.

You also seem to get FREE delivery if ordering just these monitors, even if your order remains under £100.

The Alesis Elevate 3 Powered Desktop Studio Speakers provide 20W

continuous (RMS) power output with 60W peak output so you get high

quality audio with pronounced lows and crisp highs. They can move enough

air for small venues and parties as well as being a great choice for

producers. Alesis have given the Elevate 3s a Phono (RCA) input to boost

its compatibility. If you're looking for an affordable and

great-sounding pair of powered speakers, look no further than the Alesis

Elevate 3 powered speakers.

WOW a hot deal indeed The quality of these will outclass any "COMPUTER SPEAKERS" in the up to £150 price bracket inc those over priced crappy bits of plastic with headphone sized air rattlers.
Shame i don't actually need a pair, else i would be buying them myself.

You would be better off buying a usb dac amp and using some old hi-fi speakers that a lot of people have in the cupboard or loft.

How much is a decent USB DAC Amp and can it like this also be used without requiriung a PC?

Im actually looking for better speakers myself for my desktop pc. Still rocking these old logitech ones I got a long while back which has a sub too but sound is okay, my old sub speaker system was amazing wish I didn't toss it out.
Anyhow never heard of this brand, but will have a look at some reviews.

Thanks for posting

Did you miss a comma in your sentence (USB DAC, amp, and hi-fi speakers)? The only amplifiers I am used to seeing built into an USB DAC are headphone amps.

I don't have an old hi-fi amplifier lying around. Can you recommend an amplifier that would fit into this budget and be overall higher quality? I have some Wharfedale diamond 9's sitting unused that would be nice to set up, but I don't want to cheap out on the amplifier and be unhappy with the sound quality.

The first one I had was a Topping TP30. Not a well known make, but they are good Amps, have a look on EBay and YouTube. You just plug it in a USB port, change in Sound settings, attach speakers and away you go. You also have the option to use headphones.

I use a smsl sa-36 Pro with some diamond 9's and am happy to recommend it

I haven't heard the speakers in this post but I'm quite confident that for listening to music, your diamond 9's with the above or similar would be a much more enjoyable listening experience.

One negative with the amplifier I mentioned though - there is distortion at the highest level...for me I would find that level uncomfortable without distortion anyway so it doesn't bother me, but apparently it can be improved with a better power supply (that's definitely the part they've cheaped out on)

The speakers in this post seem good value though. Thanks OP

I haven't heard these. But are monitor speakers generally not great out of the sweet spot?

Thanks, been thinking about upgrading for a while & these a hopefully better than my PC speakers I'm using to record with right now.

I have upgraded since to another Topping with digital volume, but I actually prefer the old TP30 with the rotary volume. I can’t remember if that one has an Aux in, but my TP32ex has so I can also plug my phone in and listen to podcasts, as well plug headphones in. I don’t know why they show an additional headphone amp on their webpage as you don’t need it.
with mine I use a pair of Mission 760i hi if speakers and sounds great.
I had a Logitech surround set before which you realise is a novelty when you start using hi if speakers. The amp itself bypasses your PCs soundcard so you don’t get all the processing rubbish that goes on in the soundcard.

The SA-36 is much cheaper than the Topping at the moment. Too bad it's not possible to do a side by side comparison before buying. Thank you both for your advice, they both look like good solutions.

Just missed out on these, can't find them on GAK ?gutted. Can anyone recommend another set of monitor speakers for a similar price? Previously used a set of m-audios AV32s which died. looking for a worthy replacement.

Check reviews on both in order to decide.
I don’t know much about the SA-36 but the Topping amps are really well made.

guys would these be okay to use for gaming without a sub? seems like good quality for price

Original Poster

@dioxyde0 These speakers are low end studio/monitoring speakers which produce a fairly neutral sound (no boosted bass/treble). Basically these are meant for music production or as i currently am DJing. These would probably be great for gaming, i have another set of monitors i personally use for gaming as well as listening to music, music production, video editing and watching movies. Those speakers perform better than all cheap PC speakers across the board.

Also they have a sub out socket should you feel you need to add a sub at a later date.

Hope that helps!

Cheers op! Back in stock! Ordered and are on the way. Thanks 👌

I am really tempted by this... shame I just don't have the desk space for it =(
Edit: Nevermind... the deal is over. They're OOS now
