Quo vadis

If asked a valid question I have the courtesy of giving a polite and useful response.
Thanks for the Google tip though. Never would have thought of that.oO

I'm the same, except when it's a really really lazy question. In the time it took you to type out the question on here, you could've just googled it yourself and saved yourself the undesireable responses you have got.

In the time it took me to type out the question: What's skoove? Really, wasn't that much of a longwinded question was it? so, I have to open a new tab, type the google address and then type the question, then choose from a myriad of websites which might contain the answer I'm looking for. The OP clearly knew the product and what was on offer and was best placed to give a short answer. It's the same attitude as seeing an old lady with a zimmer frame or walking stick trying to cross the road and someone walking past saying - there's a pedestrian crossing 50 yards away... go and use it. Helpful advice or plain shallow and selfish?

And that is why the world is doomed. Everyone's first thought is themselves and the immediacy of the internet means that people get pointed at google. Very impersonal.

I'm not bothered by undesirable responses, I'm bothered by the attitude of people towards others...

that escalated quickly. I'm with quidstretchy though. look it up yourself.

midi too

Showing £59 for me?

Bear in mind this is not a keyboard that makes sounds - it's only an input device, that connects as a controller to a computer (or other actual sound-making device).

That said, it's a good price for a decent MIDI keyboard.

What browser are you using, Mosaic?

Every browser I use has a built in search facility and even if I type a search in the URL field, they automatically search anyway.

Every browser I have also has the facility to ctrl-click (Mac) or right click (PC) a word and select search from a contextual menu so no typing required whatsoever.

And most search engines manage to give results straight away, as far as I remember, no need to wait for humans to type their replies.

The world is doomed because so many people nowadays lack gumption.

What about all the people using mobiles?
No search with out either opening another tab or over writing your current one.

Sadly I don't have a mouse connected to my phone and I find right click simply goes back.

Also what about people on limited data plans or with a slow internet connection.

Its not even something that is common. I wasn't aware so it helped me also.

As this is a fairly obvious question for anyone browsing this deal, the sensible thing would have been to look up skoove in order to get a reply that didn't require more typing as well as an indeterminate period of waiting for the internet to answer, and then post "skoove is.." rather than "what is skoove?". The next sensible thing would be for the OP to update the deal to include this information and thank the commenter. And I think the correct answer is probably "skoove is a terrible name for a web site"

People on limited data plans who can load and read a web forum and, presumably, receive notifications of replies?

This page probably contains several times more data than a Google results page so Google wins every time, I'm sad, as an anti-Googlopolist, to say.

I have an iPhone 4s on a limited data plan and in a not very great reception area and use Google by default frequently - I just read (having searched on Google) that a Google search uses about 20k of data which means that with a 1GB data plan, you could make 50,000 Google searches per month and even a slow 14k dialup internet connection could load the results in seconds.

I haven't missed anything except that you would not even have had to type the words 'what is' in Google or, in this case, it would not even have been necessary to hit the shift key to type the '.

But as the person is already here then the Google search would be an addition.

Then there is the issue of people posting pointless pictures that have no relevance to the post. But that's another issue...

But if somebody hadn't been kind enough to upload the photo you would have had to go out with a camera and find a nest for your picture.
So somebody helping here or on Google is all the same.

And I think of Harry Enfield's Old Gits when people have no care for others, or appreciate their position, or abilities and will happily make snide comments about how useless they are ...
Old Gits...Sweeties?

Oh and yes, I did use Google to find this particular clip

Can people not take a bit of banter these days!
Dry your eyes and move on.

Has nothing to do with caring or not caring. People here (myself included) will happily answer questions and help others out, provided the person asking isn't being incredibly lazy. You've shown you're more than capable of using google - so, you had no reason to ask such an easily answerable question here instead of googling it yourself. In fact, having to wait for someone to answer you here would've taken much longer than you just searching google yourself. Hence, no-one has answered your question and you've received a fair few comments all saying pretty much the same thing.
