I got one of these myself and one for my mum for Christmas. Bro wants one for his Bday and the price is down to £28.99 if you click the promotions button and choose the "£6 off when you buy one".

Absolutely love mine got it wrapped around the back of my tv. When I say "okay Google, we've finished eating" it turns off my overhead hue lights and turns this on to a nice orange glow.

I think it's a quid cheaper than when it went down well on here before.

It does say it works only with 2.4 ghz WiFi network which is wrong, there is a simple way to get it to work on 5ghz without changing router settings.

If you have trouble connecting it to a network, this vid I did shows the full set up and the easy way around it that's not in the instructions. Hope that helps

I purchased a 5m one off eBay for £20.

The Lombex one? Nice that's a great deal. Was it a one off or do you have the link?
Nice concept if you require a phone to change everything. Another Alexa low budget option (without using a phone) could be achieved for about £10-£15 using a Sonoff Wifi switch, 1- 5m RGB strip with controller and PSU.

Yep that is a good cheaper option. Only reason I went for this over that is for only an extra 15 quid, and no cutting wires or faffing, you can voice command it to change colour

Will that option work with Alexa?

Anyone know if LED strips from Ikea are smart like the light bulbs.

Yep I looked at getting the Xiaomi but it's still about £25 quid everywhere at the moment and you have to wait for shipment from the far east. I got this delivered next day with prime

I've not seen any, they do bulbs, those door panels, but not smart strips. They do sell strips which you might be able to control with a WiFi controller from Amazon. But then you might as well buy this as the Ikea + Amazon controller will cost more than £30.
Yeah might do or just get Hue extensions as have Phillips hue strip anyway. Thanks.
Is there a light strip that changes colours accordingly with the content on screen? I saw one that does it through content playing through HDMI but not for native streaming apps on the TV.

Good point I'll change it. BUT with a seperate wifi controller you can't change the colour by voice/automation
