I agree I have 2GB, however these are normally about £10+ more. Thought this would be good for just a basic android tv box

it's perfectly fine for a basic android box and will very likely cope with 99% of the content people want it for.

I think people complain about rockchips for no other reason than everyone else has so they assume they're no good

Absolutely right. We've still got a couple of older Android boxes in use, 1GB RAM and no idea what chip is inside! They work perfectly well with Kodi and its assorted add ons, have no trouble connecting to the network and happily run media from the network. Once you've fired up Kodi there is not a lot of difference from our main box which is only a couple of months old with an Amlogic 912 and 2GB of RAM, at least not that I have noticed.
