Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance.

As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.

Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.

Overcome an ever-present deadly threat – Experience persistent fear as a truly dynamic and reactive Alien uses its senses to hunt you down and respond to your every move.

Improvise to survive – Hack systems, scavenge for vital resources and craft items to deal with each situation. Will you evade your enemies, distract them or face them head on?

Explore a world of mystery and betrayal – Immerse yourself in the detailed setting of Sevastopol, a decommissioned trading station on the fringes of space. Encounter a rich cast of inhabitants in a world scarred by fear and mistrust.

When she left Earth, Ellen Ripley promised her daughter Amanda she would return home for her 11th birthday. Amanda never saw her again.

Fifteen years later, Amanda, now a Weyland-Yutani employee, hears that the flight recorder of her mother’s ship, the Nostromo, has been recovered at the remote trading station Sevastopol. The temptation for her to finally understand what happened is too much to resist. When the crew arrive at Sevastopol, they find something is desperately wrong. It all seems to be connected to an unknown menace, stalking and killing deep in the shadows.

In order to uncover the truth about her mother, Amanda is forced to confront the same terrifying thing that separated them.

If you are an Alien fan (especially a bigger fan of Alien than Aliens) and you haven't played this. Don't even think about it, just buy it, you will not be disappointed.

    An absolute must on VR.

    VR mod - github.com/Nib…ses
Alien Isolation had built-in VR support removed just before it launched, the mod restores VR.

Scary game but worth having a heart attack to experience this.

Ignore what everyone is saying and don't buy this game. It's terrifying.

I just spend my entire time hiding in a locker.

But occasionally I manage to pluck up the courage to climb out and turn my PC on.

Absolutely terrifying in a good way

This is the best game in the horror/sci-fi genre with brilliant soundtrack. I recommend to play it on xbox with hdr setting enabled on an oled screen (despite 1080p it looks amazing with deep black and bright light effects , on pc you can also turn on auto hdr)

True, but you can burn it and it runs away. The feeling of being hunted by a seemingly intelligent foe is what makes this game truly terrifying. You never forget the first time your chest is punctured by the alien's apendage.

Although the game outstays its welcome (it's way too long) the journey is worth it. (edited)

I can't get a good hdr working on my pc. I have it hooked upto my Samsung qled TV hdr 10bit and the blacks are all scuffed and horrible. Is there a special TV setting or pc setting I need to do?

I also failed to configure it properly (my computer: gtx 1650 max q with hdmi 2.0 and windows 11, tv: oled C9).
Also everything is too bright and it can't be adjusted in-game settings - maybe it's because of the lack of HDMI 2.1 support.
It seems to me that if hdr starts up correctly, the only thing you can adjust is the brightness slider since auto hdr is an unofficial feature. (on Xbox everything is ok by default, you know there is a slight black crush but it gives a better atmosphere) (edited)

Check that the colour range setting for the HDMI input is set to Full on the TV (instead of limited).

Computers use the full 0-255 RGB range but TV/film is I think 16-255 limited (so they can hide details in the black areas with less post-processing). If you have this set incorrectly you will see crushed blacks.

Ty I'll have a look and try that. Also in game you can adjust the peak brightness in nitts and then the white balance. I'm assuming I set the max to the TV rating then slide the white to what I want?

Correct, make sure the HDMI setting is correct first then make other adjustments
