Summary

Bringing the legendary war between two of science-fiction's most popular characters to FPS fans, AvP delivers three outstanding single player campaigns and provides untold hours of unique 3-way multiplayer gaming.

Experience distinctly new and thrilling first person gameplay as you survive, hunt and prey in the deadly jungles and swamps surrounding the damned colony of Freya's Prospect.

  • As the Marine, you'll experience a claustrophobic and terrifying experience where light is your friend, but there's never enough. However, the United States Marine Corps are humanity's last line of defense, and as such they are armed to the teeth with the very latest in high explosive and automatic weaponry.
  • As the Predator, you will stalk from the shadows and from above, passing athletically through the treetops to ambush your victims. Although equipped with an array of powerful, exotic weapons and tracking equipment, honor ultimately dictates that you must get in close and take your trophies face to face.
  • As the most deadly species in the universe, the Alien offers you the chance to play as the very stuff of nightmares - the monster in the dark swarming forward with countless others, jaws like a steel trap and claws like blades.
  • Play all sides off against each other in a series of unique 3-way online modes and go tooth-to-claw-to-pulse rifle in the reinvention of one of multiplayer gaming's defining moments.
AvP uses the Steam Cloud to store game stats and skill information, which is then used for matchmaking purposes.

Its a game that really grew on me. Remember pre ordering it before release and when i eventually played it felt a little underwhelmed. Then i played the multiplayer with a few friends and really enjoyed it and went back to and finished the single player. Still looks really good even by todays standards. Then again i own and like all the avp games. I even own colonial marines. lol .

Funnily enough, I'm finding I'm playing more of my old games now than new ones. Just dug out 2009 Wolfenstein & loved it so much I'm going through it all again in God-mode! Have also recently played Crysis I, II & Warhead, Mafia II (with the recent texture update) & my all time favorite, Cryostasis. Modern games are great but SOOOOOO big! It took me almost nine months to work through Assassin's Creed Odyssey & its DLC!

Wolfenstein 2009 is a classic! I like the newer ones also but thought that version really had a sense of atmosphere the new ones dont. Im the same i tend to go back and play older games more of recent. Mainly because new games with main story, side missions, extras, add ons..require me to take about a fortnight off to get through it all. lol.

One of the scariest, most atmospheric games of all time. Brings back some great memories when I was at uni yet should've been revising for exams
How do games of this ilk run on a modern PC under Windows 10? No anomalies or the like? Asking because I'd really like to revisit some stuff from 200-2005.

I recently upgraded my pc early January, and it runs flawlessly. Not had any issues at all. Hope it helps:)
I've recently started playing this with friends, multiplayer is great fun. I'd like to get the map packs but they're never on offer it seems.
