Yes, Alienwares are overpriced, yes, this machine is missing an SSD, but a pretty good price versus RRP for a very decent gaming on-the-go machine (even though nothing beats a good desktop ).

If link doesn't work look for the Alienware 17 - R3 here: outlet.euro.dell.com/Onl…687

It's "Scratch and Dent" but I've seen users here say you probably won't even be able to spot the dent/mark for a couple of months unless you really look hard.

can buy 2xgtx1080 at this price and brand new. If for someone is a must to have a gaming laptop, I must ask how this can be considered as one. GPU is the equivalent of a gtx480 or amd 6970, so useless for today needs

I don't see why anyone would use a Laptop as their main gaming machine OR why anyone would buy two GTX 1080s, unless you need very expensive coasters. But with this retailing at £1229 from Dell (with approx £120 off, that is), it's a good discount.

BTW, a laptop than can run most of 2015's AA titles on high/ultra is gaming enough for the vast majority of the population, elitists can pay £4k for a piece of hardware that will be obsolete in 3-4 years if they prefer

I don't understand how comparing 2 x desktop grade GPUs against a Laptop makes any sense... It's like saying you could buy a nice 5 Litre V8 engine instead of Vespa... Just doesn't compare.

Funnily enough, trying to get a 970m laptop for under £1000 can be a challenge. There are NO laptops on the market on the new chipsets - so if you want a "gaming laptop" you're either going to be getting a 960m, 965m, 970m or 980m. Unless of course you do spend the silly money and buy the laptops that actually have a full 980gt in them.

Anyway, go buy your 2 x 1080 (from somewhere in stock..?) and sit and look at them being all shiny - without stumping up more cost for CPU, MoBo, RAM, Case, PSU etc, you aren't going to get very far...

Wow! A speedy and half-witty response - in just 10 weeks! Amazing!
Unfortunately we don't have the space for a desktop machine so we end up with laptops ;-(

Oh FFS child, give it up. You aren't fooling anybody and you're just making yourself look even more stupid than when you claimed that £1000 is the same as £2000.

Either you're a troll, or you're deluded or you're just a half-wit. It's really hard to tell which. Whichever it is, you're just another muppet to add to the ignore list. And don't bother responding - I won't see it!
