Is the jump from 144hz to 240hz very noticeable?

I heard you can see the universe moving.
Posted the exact same deal a few days ago (from Amazon: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/alienware-aw2518hf-245-inch-240hz-1ms-tn-freesync-1080p-gaming-monitor-29999-amazon-2911450) and it got voted cold...
It was £249.99 on amazon in September and the same price as this now, for those that prefer.

I'm hoping the G-Sync ones come down in price a bit.

Another 250 for GSync though and I'm not sure it's worth it as I've not seen it at work yet!

Gsync is great for when your under 60 FPS, I've went through 4 of the 165hz 1440p screens, all had their problems, got one of these screens and decided to not go for the gsync model and I've not looked back, it's a great screen for a TN, excellent colours for the type of screen right out of the box and the screen updates that fast I don't ever see screen tering at all. I absolutely love mine.

Ah that's interesting thanks. When you say you got a non-gsync model, which did you go for in the end?

Its a good deal, but there are better monitors out there (albeit double the price of this monitor)

I think the OP was probably factoring the price into his comment.

Its 2018 and its 1080p, TN and only 24.5" in size, i know its response rate is fast but thats a low spec screen.

That was a sick thing indeed. This place defies logic

I heard you can see the universe moving.

I haven't seen one in person, but I've seen reviewers do tests with multiple people and they could rarely notice the difference. It was a small sample size, but it was something like 3 out of 20 people. It's nothing like the jump from 60Hz to 144Hz

Yes and no, it will depend on the person perceiving it tho and what game you play, it's noticeable bit more than you can feel it rather than see it
Uff. TN Panels need to die! The quality between TN and IPS is night and day.

Eh, not when lots of IPS screens have so much damn glow it ruins the immersion. Also black levels really are fairly disappointing.
Cold deal
ITC might be refurbished. Add on circa £10 delivery.

No, generally once you pass around 110hz it's all the same

My Dell S2716DG is actually amazing, and it's a TN. Unless you frequently do professional work that requires absolute colour accuracy, I don't see a problem with good TN panels these days
So bad is not 250hz

When you're watching your netflix, you want 4k and 50hz is enough. For gaming however, the refresh rate is it. 4k doesnt mean the quality is any better, because what you're seeing is so far behind!
I had the viewsonic 240hz minitor and can say a felt/seen the diffrence going from 144 to 240hz but when it really hit home was when i got my new monitor the acer z35p. Dropping from 240 to 120hz was maaasive.
Every high has a low.
Alienware... the first ever monitor (of many) that I've owned to actually fail on me after a few years.
I have no interest if it's below 30inches. It's a waste of money to be buying this size in this day and age as the price for higher inches will stay higher by buying lower resolutions like these ones.

Yes, in fact I use a 32inch. 15 years of PC gaming so I'm not a new comer either. The more you see, the better.

I wasn’t disrespecting that in any way, I just don’t know how you can see the whole screen in your field of view, I struggle with my 22 inch monitors sometimes aha

Paid £280 for 27" IPS 1440p, 144hz with Freesync. Crossover Fast, just coming from South Korea. See how that performs.

True for colour and viewing angle, but not for contrast and speed. For a gaming monitor, TN is still a reasonable choice.
Owned this monitor, I much prefer the AOC Ag251fz. The alienware doesn't even have low blue light or an option for low input lag.

Thats not how it works lol, field of view is how you see more not screen size... Also distance to monitor.

You can't say that then say "also distance to monitor", lmao.. That's essentially same as screen size. What do you think is happening when you get closer to a monitor?

Don't talk about FOV without talking about resolution, don't talk about resolution without talking about screensize. There's an obvious reason why gamers have moved on from 19inch/1024x1024 monitors. I actually remember when there was a debate by some that it was the most ideal for gamers and anything more was too much. The only moment it's too much is when you find yourself turning your head.

Depending on what game you play, you'll find seeing specific things are easier when your monitor is larger. A 5.5inch screen is not equal to a 30inch screen, considering a 5.5inch essentially is a phone and you're holding it up real close. Try it.
