Conclusion
The Alienware M11x is a stunning piece of kit. It's bigger, thicker and more expensive than your average netbook, but it blows everything else out of the water with its astonishing performance. If you want a machine that's comfortable to use, highly portable and brutally quick, there simply is no alternative. Miss it at your peril.

Bargain...
No vote: I guess there may be a few people who want good power on a tiny screen.
But just lately ive been seeing them thinking how bloody awful they look. Personally i think they look too chunky, the design is pretty damn gawdy, and tbh i think it will age very quicky in the looks department. Its a great machine spec and no doubt quality wise... but i couldnt handle looking at it a year down the line and still thinking how nice it looks, or doesnt as the case may be.
Each to their own though and im sure others will dissagree ;-)
Ive just remembered what it reminds me of and would do after time.... now looking at a very old chunky IDM Thinkpad lol.

Why did you return it?
(edited)
Stylish and looks good quality, yes, but relativity expensive, fast but not scorching, weighter than many 11inchers, so you'd need to be buying it for it's gaming potential above portability.
So only for people who desperately need fast gaming on the move (yes, I know that's what it's designed for, but I'm pointing out that it's really limited to only that, else there are much better choices around).
I'd assume it has HDMI and VGA out to connect it to a bigger screen.

I was unlucky in getting one of those few machines with a hardware fault in it. It didnt allow me to overclock it to 1.73GHz as advertised on several websites (crashed with BSOD everytime I did). Alienware tech support are the worst. They told me, it doesnt cover under warranty if I oc it. Even their manager did. And they were rude. I returned it and thought of reordering it later. However I got Alienware M17x R2 fully loaded as replacement from Dell. So I lost the need for the M11x (they both look the same and I love variety)
Besides after checking Razer Switchblade, many people may reconsider.
You can get the previous gen with an i5 for £100 more which I would be far more tempted by than the culv processor which is definitely showing its age now.
ITS ALIENWARE AFTER ALL.
sorry
Sorry but this laptop is pretty expensive for its price, and alienware isnt all that, its just a brand made by dell which has been known to create over expensive Gaming laptops. Asus does a better job at that and that is a fact.
Expensive for it's price? Whu....?
I sense a lot of negativity and intense feelings here. Chill out people.
Well, I tried but couldn't find anything exactly at this price. I have a few for references though, albeit they didn't get hot because of brand name probably

This one is £50 more, but look at that boost in CPU and screen size!!!!
hotukdeals.com/dea…368
Again, £20 more, but wow, bigger screen, better CPU and GPU!
Long live the brand-kisser. What a bunch... And I was being sacarstic about the weight of this netbook by the way, in case anyone misunderstood.
Fine, let me address all of this in turn and I will refrain from being as sarcastic and obnoxious as you while doing it.
First up - 'better' is a subjective term, I would never buy a Medion laptop, just as I would never drive a low-end or budget car, so just because something cheaper may have something you perceive to be better doesn't mean everyone does. Like I said, it's not my only computer so when I hit the limitations of it I'll use something else.
The Medion GPU is ok, about the same as the Alienware's. I actually thought it was the HD5145 which is quarter the power (80 shaders vs. 320) of the HD5165 (HD4650 rebrand), it's about on par as nVidia's in the Alienware, so you can have that point, silly marketing by AMD/ATi if you ask me because if I'm experienced and make that mistake others would.
I am not offended at all actually - but because someone picks a luxury, expensive item over something cheaper and not fitted to their task, why is that so wrong? What I don't like is people who assume an 11" laptop is bad for everyone because it's not right for them or that it's their only computer. If I have the opportunity to carry my Dell XPS, then I do. For the record the reason I don't have an 18.4" laptop is because it doesn't fit in my rucksack when I'm biking or hand luggage when I travel.
I have run (all at native res): World of Warcraft (full everything), Crysis 1 & 2 (medium settings), NFS: Hot Pursuit (high settings), Far Cry 2, STALKER 2, amongst others.
Yes, I watch movies and listen to music - I appreciate the long battery life by disabling the discrete graphics.
I have Photoshop on the machine for editing and retouching photos too but I don't use it for that so much because I prefer a larger machine for doing that long term.
I chose this Alienware because there's nothing else like it on the market, hands-down. There is no other machine with a footprint that small and so much power packed into it, period. The M15x/M17x are nice computers but far too expensive for what I want to do on them which is why I took a Dell XPS instead as I get about 80% of the performance for 40% the cost.
I reckon this is a pretty objective point-of-view.

it is dated.
it is overpriced.
it is a dell wearing an ET mask.
it is a waste of money
it is a silly silly idea.
Alienware fanboys : buy this and you are getting truly shafted and someone somewhere is laughing loudly in the distance.
it could well be me and a few others around here...
Like a microwave meal compares to a t-shirt.
Anyone who tries to compare an ultraportable gaming laptop with a desktop replacement which is useless for games is clearly too stupid to own a computer.
Mine took a day or two, so you should be getting the tracked email very soon from Quidco. My M11X is now in Kazakhstan, its on a world tour! Hoping Borat doesn't swipe it!
Mine didnt, had to raise a ticket, was tracked, then tracked 'naturally' afew days later by Dell so the case was closed.
I use noscript, adblocker on my browser which messes things up.
Quidco gave me a link to follow which might help you in the future mate.
Cashback Problems
Making friends with my laptop then
I can only imagine that after each stage they report back to the office in Germany who say its ok for them to send it to the next destination. Although that being said, just think of the carbon footprint left by dell if they really were sending it from China to China back to Korea
also the times stated are all local, which would of course explain all the time travelling
Awesome laptop. Bought it the day it came out. Had fun playing with it. Returned it within 28 days. The price has never fallen since then. Bought it for £619 (-selling bundled mouse, Quidco, dell vouchers) over a year ago.

Looks awsome so much more trendy than a mac
(edited)
it isnt a netbook, this will cope with quite a few games...
(edited)
Well they are missing the point as this is not a netbook, is has a su3700 core2duo that is much more powerful than the atom also has a 1GB dedicated GPU. The only thing in common with a netbook would be the screen size but even then the screen res is higher than most netbooks
Little heavy but the 8 cell battery must be a big contributor, but 7 hours battery life with a dedicated graphics cards is good.
