I've been looking for a budget smart phone with a great camera and this offering from DOOGEE with its Samsung equipped shooter looks to be the answer.

Link to manufacturer site and more details on the camera side of things here.

Bit personal!
Full HD for under £80? Me likey! Bought the Doogee X5 Pro a few months ago (looks like similar spec but 720p display) on eBay for ~£60 and been very happy with it. Would have definitely gone for this instead - it has a significantly bigger battery too, although not removable on this one apparently.

stupid irrelevant comment...
I have an X5 Pro too, recommended, a £40 workhorse but they messed with X5 Max Pro customers bad as I saw in xda developers.
I would prefer to move to a better supported make with regular security updates and availability of source eg Xiaomi?

Great camera on a Doge phone? Come on man.
I have a doogee X5 Max. Beware, it came loaded with spyware and it pop up commercials out of nowhere.
these are great phones.
Quite a detailed review here...

It says the phone has a few faults (GPS doesn't work well and the dual-camera thing isn't brilliant) but for £77 I'm seriously tempted. Voted hot.

Having previously used a Homtom phone with useless GPS, I would avoid anything with dodgy GPS, even if it looks like good value.

Wasn't aware of that - what did they do with the X5 Max Pro?
I submitted several bugreports rgd my X5Pro but Doogee dont reply.
I dont get OTAs.
You need to ask any X5 Max Pro customer. I will put on my helmet and keep my head down.

Very generous review & basically 8/10. Can't see any other site giving it more than 5/10. Also, I rather they installed 1 proper main camera.
Recommended this to my daughter and to my surprise, she's ordered it. Am I going to be in trouble if it's rubbish!!

Could you do me a big favour? Could you post the links to a couple of the bad 5/10 reviews you read? It's not too late for my daughter to cancel her order. Usually Notebookcheck.net reviews are my own personal gold standard but maybe on this occasion they got it wrong. Thanks.

Well thanks for clarifying that.

Well thanks for clarifying that.

Did you notice earlier an X5 Max customer who responded earlier with his reasons?

Sorry, what I meant was if any other site reviewed it or review it in the future, it wouldn't have or wasn't likely to to get more than 5/10.

Ok for the price I guess, but nothing more - just my opinion of course & dubious because of similar, other low-end phones I've owned, which didn't quite do it for me. Let's hope I'm wrong & your daughter doesn't have too high expectations!
The phone arrived three weeks after ordering. Daughter is happy!
Yes, I know this is a dead thread, but I finally got to see my daughter's Doogee Shoot 1 and TBH, it's not a bad piece of kit. In the two months she's been using it, it's been trouble free. The finger print reader works, the screen is sharp, the camera is average but still okay and even the GPS gets lock straight away. Not bad for £77!
