Does it include dulux trade?
Just in time as that's how I'm spending next week anyway, decorating. Anyone got any experience with Wickes paint and what it's like?
If you bank with Halifax also worth checking cashback extras, I’ve got 10% off Wickes at the minute
Do you think you could take one of the tins of paint back for a refund effectively making it a free deal.....

I have experienced some of their paint this year, and tbh, I’m not overly impressed. The 10ltr matt emulsion is terrible, two of my ceilings look awful now, I would never buy it again. I think half of the problem was how thick it was. However the smaller tins of coloured emulsion are better, but are the opposite and give a far thinner coat. The finish after 3 coats is good tho.

In my opinion with cheaper brands of paint, what you save in material costs, you make up for it in extra time applying more coats or trying to sort out the messy finish later. In the past I have mainly used crown and some dulux which have been far better and worth paying the extra for. On offer they aren’t even that much more expensive.

I suppose it also depends how closely you look at things but if your a perfectionist like me, the finish and look means everything.

No that’s technically stealing really plus you’d need a receipt which would show it was bogof

Won’t know until it goes live tomorrow so keep a look out....
Try Johnstones Retail colours at argos, bm it's roughly the same price range, Quality is FAR better than dulux, crown and deffo wickes.
Currently 20pc off Johnstones at argos. Possibly use with the 5 off 50 voucher? . Various coloured matt £16 for 10l argos. Vinyl Silks colours £17 for 5litres. Fairly good Value for money.
I wouldn’t touch Dulux again after using Crown easyclean (black tubs) they are 200 more durable than normal Emulsion, used it on walls but can also be used on wood metal ceilings radiators etc, great finish.

Well it effectively makes it theft. I can send you some food though if you're going hungry?

If you took it back with the receipt, no, because it shows BOGOF.

If you took it back without the receipt when the promotion has finished you'd most likely be issued a credit note (if Wickes allow this, I know B&Q / Halfrauds e.t.c used to a while back, not sure about now).

I need inspiration for my lounge, I've got rustic oak coloured furniture, grey / black sofa and grey Roman blind.

Is that any better than Dulux Easycare though (or the trade Diamond stuff)?
Shame the deal is only on 2.5l interior emulsions. Last time around (August) it was on ALL 2.5l cans, which made the ridiculously expensive DT Weathershield exterior undercoat and gloss (great system) justifiable. Wickes got cleared out on all the DT trim paints.

This time around it's only DT Vinyl Matt (better off buying the 7.5l promo packs for the same price) and DT Diamond Eggshell (genuinely good price).

Good promotion, though.

Thanks, I'll have a look on Instagram. I was thinking of going for a feature wall that's lighter than the other walls as I've got an Ambilight TV and the current colour (dark blue) from the previous owners doesn't do it justice.
Cheers all - thanks to this post last night I went and got myself 10 tins ready for new house move!
what paint would you use for skimmed plastered smooth wall?
Any deals on Dulux Satinwood anywhere please?
Gutted, I paid £30.49 for 2.5ltr of Dulux emulsion yesterday at Travis Perkins!

I have been researching into this and i'm just about to start painting over a newly boarded and skimmed wall.

Leyland Trade Contract Mat watered to 50/50 is what i'll be using as my undercoat. Toolstation have it £14.88 for 10 litres.

Two coats of this stuff and then your final good quality paint on top

Thanks for this but what is classed as good quality paint? In the past i just bought whatever was on sale plus it was used on paintable wallpaper and not newly skimmed wall
Great offer, anyone got any ideas of colour walls for our new kitchen which have pale grey doors, any advice will be much appreciated, thanks

I thought I could get away with using the Leyland Contract on a stripped wallpapered room but the paint seemed to bubble up in places and didn't look too good so I stripped it back down to the plaster and used a mist coat which made a big difference. The Leyland is a base coat for some better quality paint.

Defo use floor covering etc when applying a mist coat as it does tend to splash around.

What colour would people recommend for a background for a Ambilight telly?
mixed dulux also ?

Last year we used some cheap profi paint - intended to be a couple of undercoats for some of the dulux easycare bathroom. Did one coat of it and it was so watery and awful that we ended up just disposing of 10l of the stuff and not bothering.
