Desk top calendars are great as they give you a new puzzle, joke, recipe or whatever for every day of the year, *INSTORE ONLY*.

There was a huge variety to pick from such as:
Scrabble, Tangrams, assorted Sudokus, mindbendings puzzles, Simpsons, Guiness World Records, recipes, golf holes and golf trivia, Match of the Day, sleeping puppies (sooo cute), kittens, cross stitch, space, watercolours (with paints so you can paint a new picture every day), and many many more. We got the puzzle ones as they are a great way to keep the brain ticking over and work out much cheaper than buying puzzle books..

Sorry, I couldn't see any calenders online.

I picked one up over the weekend at Borders for half price (£5) so I jumped the gun. £2 desktop calendar is a bargain! Some of those you can also register for one free online calendar where they email you a factoid a day.

Must look. Bought a few a couple of years ago in the sale and they were brilliant.

CuteCutie, what a shame you missed this price. We happened along just as they were marking them all down. My timing is not usually so lucky.

I can only console myself by thinking that the nearest Borders would cost me £2 in return bus fare so £5 is a rightful price to pay. Will have to remember for next year though!

Hot! Going to go to my local borders on the way home to pick one or two up

Give it till next week and they'll be £1, they do this every year.

No, they get rid of them early Feb. Every year they drop them to £5, then £2, then £1 then 50p. If ther are loads of the one you want left, you can save a little extra by waiting - especially if you work close to them and can pop in every day.

Can't see much online. Cheapest is this calandar borders.co.uk/boo…90/ £1.25 ....2007 !!!! ...why on earth do they still have it?

i saw a cliff richard calendar in asda yesterday for £1 thought it was too much though:)

Sorry, I'm still a newbie and learning. I did click i'nstore only', when I submitted this and thought that would show in the listing. Thanks for letting me know, I'll know to add in my write up, for next time.

just voted hot, got the wife to pick one up

I had a choice between warcraft and chinese phrases one a day, went for the latter as off there in feb.

Shame bit of a warcraft fan and only one desk (the wife reminded me).

the others were made up puzzles and other weird stuff.

^ ^ ^ You're very welcome.

Great tip!

Went in Borders in Birmingham Bull Ring today and picked up 4 block day-a-page calendars for self/family/friends at £2 reduced from £10-£13 (most recently 'half-price' as they still are at the 'Calendars R US type ' stall in the centre).

Still had a reasonable variety, especially of desk calendars but were selling FAST as a lot fewer when I visited at 7pm than at 11am - likely to be only 'dregs' by the time they have to £1/50p/10p them!

One tip - do checkover your whole Borders store - I found the second entrance had nearby a 'sale' display with about a dozen rather nice ones left there whereas none that classy in the main display area for them (ie vultures had already picked them clean)!
