This is a great all in one printer, I bought one from Rymans just before Christmas for the same price. My local Rymans have them in stock in store if it's easier to collect than have delivered.

Is this Vista compatible ?

Does anyone know if my current Epson CX3200 can be Vista compatible ?

my epsom 640 is compatible with vista!
Good price might get one as my 640 on last legs thanks

Ive had a printer similar to this (dcp-120c) over a year and it costs pennies to run. It has been absolutely the best printer I have ever owned and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Top man !! As you inadvertantly answered both my previous questions correctly, can you answer this : how do I make my CX3200 connect wirelessly to my laptop ?

Gets a hot vote from me. Major convert to Brother All In Ones here. You wont go back, trust me.

For those that would like a fax facility see ]this post. £49.99

Attack detected!

This attack has been detected and access has been denied:

Anyone else get that when trying ink.co.uk (thought I'd look how much my ink costs)?

One that prints to Blank dvd's/cd's would be better if anyone knows of such a printer??

Thanks
Hk

Yes, i got attack detected too

Had the DCP-110c for about 3 years , reliable cheap to run.Brother printers are excellent.Bargain!

Nice one - its good to see a printer that has reasonably priced cartridges.

Easy - you need a wireless print server like ]this

Ive got a reconditioned one from ebay for approx half that price though works a treat with my Brother DCP-120c.

Next question????

Don't like Netgear. Had two seperate routers go belly up within a ouple of months. They're cheap and it shows. You can get a wireless printer for less than the cost of that print server anyhow.

Nice one, ordered, and added some heat.

Wasnt necessarily recommending that one, just showing it as an example however mine has been fine and was half that price, yes you can get a wireless printer for less than the price I linked to but can you run them on cheap as chips compatibles? The difference in price of ink cartridges on one change would outweigh the cost of a print server!

good deal indeed, well done!

can anyone find the ink on ink.co.uk though?

awesome, cheers

Hiya thanks for this ,ive just ordered one as ive been after one of these that dont
cost an arm and a leg to replace the carts.

how many prints do u get from one cartridge?? how much does it cost for each page?? thanks

I have a similar model, but a few notches up (DCP-540CN), that has document feed and network connection.

Prints are cheap. You get ~500 per cartridge, at a quid or two. Factoring in paper (and electricity) it can't be much.

hi im about to purchase but got one quick question - what is the picture quality like when printing pictures off my camera/memory card? thanks, HOT by the way

It just got better.
I just noticed that this printer qualifies for upgrade from return to base to on site warranty on registration. Post edited

Looks great, voted hot.

Ordered one; £38 after quidco which has tracked already! Great find, thanks! Heat added.

If your buying some ink from ink.co.uk I've just noticed ]some freebies on another page. I've no idea if they'll work as I've just ordered so may not come. Worth a go though.

These cartridges are easy to refill as well, there's no chip on them and they are in effect just ink tanks;-)

Thanks so much Doberman ( & everyone for your comments on this ) . Was looking for a printer & now have one on the way . Heat added.

I have the DCP-120c which I bought in June or July last year (i think it is about the same for inks) and have used almost daily since the black has been replaced just once and the colours finally went last week!

Sorry to put the mockers on this but...

The Brother uses simple ink cartridges which is why they are cheap. However the print head is fed by a capiliary tube system. These tubes and the print head eventually clog and are apparently impossible to clean. I have 2 year old DCP115 (earlier model but otherwise similar) and both the Yellow and Magenta are now clogged and will not print so all colour prints now come out one colour. Have just bought and installed the £17.99 with cash back Canon Pixma voted hot last week to replace it. Also was never that impressed by photo print capability of the Brother and used my very old Epson C62 in preference. Have now given the C62 away as the Pixma really delivers on this job.

don't see an issue with that, two years down the line this printer can be binned and it will still have cost a fraction of the price it will to replace the inks in the Pixma:p

To be fair, most inkjet printers are almost consumable items these days, and although its the tubes on the Brother, its waste ink pads on Epsons and Canons, the heads tend to go on HPs etc etc. I would never buy an inkjet printer these days and expect it to last more than 2 years, and at this price you can afford to do so!

Carts for the Pixma can be had for around 3 x the price of the Brother carts but you only need 2 for the Pixma against 4 for the brother. The Canon al-in-one printer is well less than half the price delivered. My sons Canon is now 3 years old and uses less cartridges it seems than my Brother did with probably a higher printload. We'll only find out the true comparative running costs in a couple of years time.
