I've been looking at offers to the Maldives for a few years now and never come across a deal as cheap as this given the number of nights and on an all inclusive basis! Includes speed boat transfers too. Got well excited and tried to book only to be told its based on 2 people sharing and if I wanted to take my toddler it'd be £1,500 extra!!! Looks like I may just have to keep dreaming but thought it may help some of you guys dreaming of the Maldives but on a budget. Happy booking

Update: Not sure why the link isn't working but try the link I've posted in the comments and that should take you to the kuoni deal page.

Possible £50 cashback via quidco, but link not working with quidco at the moment

Not sure quidco will be available as it says you've got to call them to get this deal?

999 each or for two sharing?

Maldives are beautiful, it's a long way but personally a week
Was long enough for me as it was too quiet for any longer.

Its disappointing to find a deal that you're interested in and then find the link takes you to somewhere completely unrelated to what has been written. Best to check your details are accurate before posting I suggest?!

who actually cares about hot and cold, some people take it way too personal here

added heat to counter ...that should annoy Amersham by the looks of it

This was the first island we went to in the Maldives - this is also going back about 8 years.

This island was very very basic, the rooms were 2* at best with a very thin matress (not that clean either) and a sink with a tap (no hot/cold water). You'd pick your main meal at breakfast time and when it was served in the evening it was "warm". The buffet lunches were ok. Food overall - edible but not amazing by a LONG way.

The place was extremely run down, need more than just a lick of paint.

The all inclusive beer (when we went) was called "Top Beer" and tasted as bad as it sounded! We actually regretted spending the extra money (there) to go all inclusive. That said after about 4 tins you were numb to the flavour.

The island also had a high number of Japanese there, primarily for the diving. It did mean the small bar was just full of English with the odd others thrown in.

In all honestly - after a 14 hour flight, a VERY rough boat ride to the island which had half of the people throwing up (I loved it) and then a long wait to get our room. We wanted to go home. . .infact for the next 2 days if we could have we would.

Now onto the positives. . ..once you put all of above into a bucket and accept it, the island itself is beautiful. There are about 5 points to exit the beach to get to the reef and in each one you'll see (or have the chance to see) different things. Sharks, rays, turtles and a vast array of fish. The next time we went to the Maldives we went to Bandos - much better (and more expensive island) but the actual snorkling wasn't as good!

The night life involved going to the bar, and for a large part just socialising with others on the island. This included spending nights playing who wants to be a millionaire on someones laptop. But you just ended up joining in or dancing to some awful music.

I also went diving here, and had some amazing experiences.

So overall the accomadation was poor, the food wasn't great, the all inclusive beer was awful. The staff were friendly, the beach/snorkling was amazing.

Would I go there again - never, would I go to the Maldives again. . without hesitation.

Now the island may have had an upgrade, but the last time I looked a couple of years ago it didn't seem it.

So bear all that in mind and have a cheap AI trip to the Maldives, personally my recommendation would be to spend more on an island with more upto date rooms, a FRESH water pool (makes a massive difference) and real entertainment. But if you want a cheap, quiet(ish) holiday with nothing to do but sit on a beach and read books or snorkle. . this would suffice.

So?

I too have been to this island (twice), and (including other islands) seven times to the Maldives in total. We told our like-minded friends about it and they have now been to Biyadhoo three times. It is one of the most basic we have visited but our personal favourite. To concur with the above review (Wibblers) the snorkeling is some of the best anywhere...You can swim/snorkel the circumference of the island in a leisurely manner in about an hour and whilst doing this you should see Turtles,Rays many many species of fish and you WILL see sharks - lots of them... My daughter was 5 yrs old on our fist trip and she spent two weeks in the lagoon swimming and trying to catch young black tips. The diving, as anywhere in the Maldives is good too.
Unlike Wibblers, I have no longing for a frehwater pool - I am a sea lover - and the other issues are moot points for me too as I have no desire to socialise or be entertained in the evenings - my family and I entertain ourselves adequately with dusk/nighttime walks (look for the fruit bat!!!) etc.
The place has had some minor refurb over the years (repairs and paint jobs) but it is basic. Our rooms were clean and comfortable but a little tired - it is a 3* after all....
Just to put int context - we as a family have been to, amongst other places, Mauritius, The Seychelles, Borneo (awesome), Egypt, Thailand, Singapore, India...
This is our favourite.
Thank goodness we are all different.

It meant that the bar was empty at nights as they didn't socialise and went to their rooms early, woke up early, went diving. Not saying it was a problem!

As I did say - it is very much in setting an expectation. Glad some people liked it - as I said the snorkling was AMAZING, great reef drop off.

The freshwater pool for us was great. I'd spend all morning (about 4 hours) just snorkling on the reef with my camera. Then we'd shower, eat lunch and lounge by the freshwater pool. Nice not to be all sticky from the sea water.

Amersham she said kuoni if you were really actually interested you would just go on their website or call them

Instead your just a moody sod who voted cold and probably won't even go. Great encouragement

Don't be a douche

Biyadhoo is superb.....I have visited 3 times the last being last year.

yes the accommodation is basic, but kept spotlessly clean by the brilliant staff. you don't visit the Maldives to sit in your room!

The Diving and snorkelling options are world class.

Uh when I last checked we live in a free country, each with a right to our own opinion!!

And at least I didn't make an abusive
and judgemental personal comment like some of the other ignorant people have!!

I too have stayed on this island 3 years ago, yes the rooms were basic but clean with tea/coffee making facilities. The food was good and plenty of choice (considering EVERYTHING had to be brought to the island by boat). Plenty of choice, lots of fresh fish, and you can even have the chef cook fish you have caught yourself on one of the included fishing trips. Pure relaxation. What we did find was that people from the "posh" islands even came to Biyadhoo for the snorkelling and diving as this island apparently has the best house reef and i'm in agreement with that. would i go back, yes, in an instance. Book it, you'll love it.

Went to Biyadhoo in march. No sharks. One turtle, the rest was just fish and I've seen more in Egypt.

Oh and the reef wasn't great at all. Was ok but after all the fanfare on tripadvisor I was disappointed

You must have been very unlucky with the weather and sea conditions??? Without sounding rude, it helps to have a bit of experience when wildlife spotting - I've been out snorkeling/diving with people who see virtually nothing when I've been feet away from them and seen lots.
Every time I've been there have been many sharks, from young ones (1-3 feet long) in the lagoon to around 7 foot, seen whilst snorkeling around the perimeter of the island, plus several Rays and Turtles.
Around the reef itself you can find many fish and also Octopus, Eels and other creatures.
When you say you saw more in Egypt, what did you see? And where in Egypt?
There are some fantastic places around the red sea but I've never found a place that offers the safety and solitude of Biyadhoo, combined with its house reef (I've spent time in Egypt, Israel, Jeddah and Sudan).

As it says on the website, a three star resort island...... great value for money......

and you will pay more for four and five star resorts ;-)

Voted Hot but would not travel half way round the world to slum it in a 3 star resort

You miss the point.... There is no 4 or 5 star, so you would miss out on this island, and many, many more places around the world...

BTW, Hostels are normally 1 star...

Some people consider your 4 or 5 stars to be slumming it! Yet they, nor anybody here, cares for your arrogance / attempt at boasting. But thank you for letting everyone know you voted hot!

I voted hot as it was a very good price - however the UK is made up of different people in different circumstances. Not a case of boasting or "arrogance". Similar to reasons why people prefer center parks to Butlins. Thanks for your comments however, good to know from two sentences that you know me inside out

Good to know you already know in less than 24 hours ( you have been a member ) that you know.
