It's a great all rounder. Sounds great as a smart speaker but if you want the best go Bose or Sonos.
Not for the audiophiles but more than good enough for my needs. Great price.

Anyone got the echo studio? Wondered how that compared to the likes of Sonos

I'm actually a massive audiophile. I got an Echo Dot (3rd gen.) for the kitchen mostly for listening to speech based radio like Five Live, LBC and Talkradio. But I also listen to Spotify and the quality is better than I expected.

Was looking at getting this Echo for a bedroom for similar uses. Echo Studio is £190. Think I'll pass. Not personally a fan of Bose in general.

After the 99p Echo Dot deal this looks like nothing

My £150 Bose does not sound better than my Echo 1 which was about £60. I dont dislike Bose, but I am not impressed considering the price.
While Bose and Sonos are better, there are not cheap. I posted some deals for Harman Kardon Allure £79 for the portable one, £99 for the wired one. I also posted some deals for LG WK7 ThinQ speaker, which was about £70. I've tested the LG, miles better than the original Echo and my Bose.
My point is if you want better, you don't necessarily need to pay double the price, you can get better ones at the same price or just slightly more.

Sorry but how is this a good deal when you only save £3

A save is a save. 5% off is better than nothing and cheaper than anywhere else if you're willing to pick it up. Personally I prefer to pay the Amazon price and have it delivered, but in the same time Argos is next to my office, so I can pick it up and save £3.
People voted hot on eBay 5% discount, also hot on saving 1p per litre of petrol (which is way worse than this discount), so why this should not be a deal.

Voted hot, as this is the cheapest, however majority of people will probably pay £3 extra and have it delivered.

Well, it's arguable what consitutes "the best", but according to Which?, it seems if you just want better, you're better off going for the 2nd generation one instead of this! Perhaps there may be Amazon Warehouse deals?

The best is subjective I suppose. Reviews suggest this sounds better than the second gen one, but I have no idea. I have a 3rd gen one and it sounds fine. Nothing compared to my KEF audio system of course, but decent for 1 speak @ 60 quid.

I agree about the Echo Dot (3rd gen.) I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality, especially for it's size and price. I use Tidal.
Bargain
Seems like it's only available in blue now from the title All-new Amazon Echo (3rd Generation) - Blue

Update, didn't realise you could click the colour to change it.

Well compared to the Sonos One it is far far better
Great product and the sound is easily good enough for a small/medium room but....it sometimes starts your radio session at the same place it started previously even if it was hours earlier. Have been onto amazon and reset it, added skills etc but they are unable to resolve it and reluctant to replace. I do not have this issue with my other echos (1, 2 and Dot 3)
