I have two Sonos Play Ones which pair in stereo, they sound incredible

I'd disagree with this. The sound is pretty awesome it filled our entire office. Ok the sound quality is not quite as good as the Sonos but you can get 2.5 of these for the price of one Sonos, and I thought it sounded pretty good regardless. It's pretty marginal I'd struggle to notice the difference even with them next to each other tbh.

I've got dot lined in to a Logitech z533 2.1 system. I'd really like to compare sound to the above. I've got three inputs to play with, the TV in one and at present there is one free. They work simultaneously so no messing. I'd advise a system similar to mine if your not moving it around. So straight forward and the dot takes care of Bluetooth. Firestick in TV with Prime. Still learning but a leap forward with my previous set up.

I've voted hot but to buy, for me anyway, it would need to be portable / rechargeable with a good battery life. I know you can buy third party docks for this but I'd want it built in. It will happen at some point.

I agree they are an absolute bargain and they do sound ok, however the Sonos Play One is on a completely different level in terms of sound quality & speaker engineering - proper deep bass, crisp mids, it's an audiophile quality speaker.....I think in a wide open office you maybe won't hear a huge difference bit put them in a small room and it is night and day.

So yeah I'm not really comparing apples v apples, just pointing out that if you are a music fan and want something that sounds very decent the Play One worth the extra money imo. I initially purchased echo and was blown away with functionality but soundwise I think is not great. It's now in the kitchen and Plays in the bedroom

I agree too that amazon echo is a great little system that the sound quality is very very poor and distorts and mid to higher levels and a lot of frequency’s start to go unbalanced. As someone who works in audio and owner of 3 Bose systems, 4 x amazon echo devices (all latest models) and 5 sonos ....that sonos wins hands down.

I have the Sonos Play one and to be honest I'm not overly impressed, yes the sound is ok. I play tidal through it which is about the best quality streaming service you can get. I'm buying this for my mother because the Sonos isn't much better than a £50 Bluetooth speaker. I'm not saying the sound quality is bad but I usually play music through an old Sony amp with mordaunt short speakers and a Bluetooth adapter and it's nowhere near that quality.
Most annoying thing I have found so far, is trying to 'rewind' on audiobooks. I have a clear Surrey (p-o-s-h) accent but 5/10 it will hear rewind as remind, even when I take special care to speak clearly and enunciate
Have you tried a different set of words? Something like ‘ga back 10 seconds’ might work more consistently.

Try two play ones together, different class. I have a marantz amp & mission bookshelf speakers, they're gathering dust since I purchased the two Play Ones.
Is there any way to use these an alarm clock which plays radio 5 live for me?

Completely agree, they aren’t Sonos quality but the sound for my living room is great and I wouldn’t upgrade as it suits my requirements of spots radio now and again, songs for my little one and when I’m on my own a bit of trance or vocal chill out music.
I have one available for £70 in Poole, Dorset.
It's new sealed boxed, and still in the sealed amazon cardboard. I bought it one week ago and, of course, I have the amazon invoice to show it.
