Same price is currys and very, but if you buy 2 from them you get £25 off too
Typical, just ordered one from Amazon with my birthday vouchers. Now in an online chat and they say the never price match. Do they?

They have changed their price matching regs now sadly.
Even against themselves where you’ve bought something and they dropped the price a week later for example, they used to refund the difference, but alas no more...
Option is to return it and re-order, but you’ll incur return postage which will probably knock out any saving you may have made...
Frustrating, but sadly that’s how Amazon are now
i think amazon just lowered the price to match it

What else are you going to do with it. More than likely to late to send back for refund.
Wow, surprising outcome. Went on chat earlier, moaning about them not price matching and wanting to cancel, said they weren't price matching it and to suck it up. Got nowhere, was going to just refuse delivery, now the price has changed my order's changed to dispatching now, so I can't cancel, kicked off on chat about it and they're refunding £15 difference

Got the same chat 'agent' both times, about an hour apart, poor lad/lass.

Saw the same Echo for £70 reduced from £90 in my local Sainsbury’s could be worth checking stores nearby. Echo dot was also £40 instead of £50

Well, you should have just asked that, then, instead of being cryptic. My daughter has the dot and it is great for what it does, with reasonable sound for her bedroom.

Thankyou for that
it was purchased for our student son and apparently he said "Nah,won't use it"
and it's not really our kind of item now we are in our fifties but seems as it has 3 months of music included we are gonna give it a go.....Partner paid £69.99 at Christmas apparently.
Thanks.
Is it just me or are these devices not very good at the moment? Limited in what they understand/ can do. Receive weekly update emails on the new sentences/ requests that the device can handle - seems like someone is entering in those lines manually?
I'm curious to know if anybody here has actually switched from a Google Home to the Echo? There's a couple of reasons I am thinking of this, a) I would love a Spot as a bedside clock, but would want the ecosystem to be the same in the whole house, and b) I DESPISE saying 'Google' everytime, Alexa or Echo just seems more natural.

My problem before with these is just that they weren't as smart as the Google Home, or as natural in their language, but this was going back a couple of years when the original came out.

Google home is far more natural sounding, netter at understanding peoples accents and far more languages. Has the better search engine.

Want functionality then echo is better.

Thanks for the advice. When you say that the functionality is better, what is it you're referring to that the Home doesn't do? Genuinely considering swapping over to the Echo side!
Heat from me on the deal, although the sound is not the best from these units.
