This or the amazon echo show 8? Looking to use more like a speaker for listening to Spotify and use some features like reminders, weather, etc? Thanks

Boils down to if you want to look at a screen or not I guess as the functionality is similar. Echo Speaker certainly is a lot louder for sure.

Thanks that does help. One more question. How would the sound compare to any Sony portable speakers like xb series 20 any ideas?
Not too fussed to have a screen though.

I would say the sound will be more balanced on this Amazon device but would perhaps lack in dynamics in comparison to a dedicated Bluetooth speaker like Sony's. The full Alexa compatibility is a win for me really.

Thanks again
I'm really impressed with these gen 3 speakers. I ended up getting 4 over Christmas and have the two in the lounge set up as a stereo pair.
Really punchy sound with a nice amount of bass, even at low volumes. I know Sonos are the king generally but at £60 these are a steal. Also have Bluetooth and one is working as my pc speaker through the aux port.

I’m selling my old Sonos play and upgrading to this, Sonos are great but a bit too expensive for tech that upgrades quite quickly
Any trade in offers?

I had three Sonos play 1 before and what randomly put me off (probably not Sonos fault) but sometimes I'd open Spotify and it would auto play on FULL volume. With a 1 year old at the time, that was lethal hah.
Now he's 3 and he enjoys shouting at Alexa to play tracks but, fingers crossed it stays this way, I've not had any full volume moments with Echo speakers!

On the whole though I did feel Sonos was expensive for what I needed.
