Does anyone know if they have discontinued the Echo Plus 2? They’re all showing unavailable
Been waiting patiently to buy this and now the day has arrived!
I wonder if it works with Tidal? Haven't found any info about compatibility.

Good deal, OP.

Some say the original has a better speaker.. a bit cheaper too..

Well if you look at the picture at the bottom it has a hive pic
worth noting that although Currys has matched the price, amazon let you pay it over 5 months at £12 a month, which made this a deal breaker for me!
EDIT: sorry, apparently it doesn’t contain a smart hub - it says so on the product listing.

Says delivery 2 to 4 months!!

Ordered from Currys, delivered next day.
Can anyone clarify which speakers have a smart hub built in? I have a 2nd Generation Echo which, according to the Amazon page, has a smart hub built in. However, the page for the 3rd Generation Echo specifically states that it doesn’t have a smart hub built in. Has that feature been removed?

"Plus" ones such as "echo plus"
I expected this to be hotter than this. I just bought one. 5 monthly payments swung it for me. Black Friday has bankrupt me.

I had Tidal and it didn't work with my current Echo. Only in America. We don't have an Alexa Skill for Tidal in the UK yet. You would have to connect your phone to your Echo via Bluetooth and use Tidal that way. It's annoying though and it affects the sound everytime you get an alert etc on your phone.

Thanks for the info, Loubou. I do use bt with my Echo Dot, 3rd. ed. but hoped that would not be necessary with this speaker. Nevermind.

They will need an Alexa skill for Tidal like in the USA. Your echo dot will be ok to use if they bring out the skill. It is no guarantee it will be good though. I had an Apple Music trial last month. I put the Apple Music Alexa skill on my Echo. It was dreadful. So useless. The best ones for the Echo are Amazon Music or Spotify in terms of features and integration. I stick to Spotify. It is good.

I too have used Spotify, but then I got a share of a family deal on Tidal at a very good price, so I've moved over to them. I'm happy with the Tidal move, it is an excellent site. It was the price drop for the Echo which tempted me to consider the Echo as a spot-gap, but plan to buy a Cambridge Audio streamer late next year, so I'm content to wait until then to complete my audio set-up.

Is £59.99 as low as Amazon will go on this?
Been looking at buying one, but unsure if the price will drop further come Friday.

This 3rd generation one hasn't been out that long. Think it came out last month. I doubt the price will drop further.
