I have been waiting for this deal again, getting one for my Christmas (late yes) and wanted the John Lewis customer care should anything go wrong with it. This is on price match and I see Tesco are doing it for the same price just now. It's the latest Paperwhite.

With or without ads?

Click to see the deal and you can find out there. Do feel free to share the answer to help anyone else bothered by ads or not. I just shared the deal.

Easy on, mate. I couldn't see any details and just wondered if you'd spotted something I'd missed.
For anyone interested/bothered, If it IS the ad-supported version and it's not clear in the listing, Amazon will usually remove the ads for free if you email customer service and complain. Was able to do this with a Kindle Fire last year.

Easy on? I wasn't rude. My response was genuine. I think it's fair enough that posting a deal is posting a deal. It's not up to the OP to go finding out all the other information. I apologise if you found my response unacceptable in some way.
what's the difference between the care you get with John Lewis that you would buying direct from Amazon?
may as well buy from Amazon, customer service is better and they dropped the price, JLP just matched. Lazy
Does the Amazon one come with 2 years warranty? the JL one does; thats a good enough reason to buy from JL..

Edit: Just checked Amazon:
"Kindle Paperwhite is sold with a worldwide limited warranty of one year provided by the manufacturer."

Im thinking of cancelling my Amazon order now and order from JL.

It doesn't matter either way, I posted this on the other Kindle Deal a few days ago...

This may help some people to remove ads from kindle...

Log in to Amazon.co.uk, go to the Contact Us section, select Fire and Kindle, then select the issue as Kindle E-Reader / Problem with my kindle / Something else. Then select chat.

Then my chat transcript went like this...

Initial Question: Removal of ads on kindle paperwhite gen7

Karuna(Amazon): Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk Kindle support. My name is Karuna. I'll be happy to help you today.
Me: Hello, merry Christmas.
Karuna: Merry Christmas!
Me: I've just got a new paperwhite kindle from tesco. It seems to have lots of adverts all over it, unlike my wife's which doesn't. I can't figure out how to get rid of them.
Karuna: I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy with the adverts appear on your Kindle Paperwhite.
Are you referring to this Kindle device "Paul's Kindle"?
Me: Yes, that's correct
Karuna: Thanks for the confirmation.
Normally, we will charge £10 to remove this feature from the Kindle device.
To serve you better, I have made a one-off exception to our normal policy and processed this request free of charge for you.

As requested, Special Offers have been disabled from your Kindle device.
In this situation, I would now want you to restart the Kindle device.

To restart your Kindle device, please follow the below steps:

1. Press and hold the Power button for 7 seconds until the Power dialogue box appears.
2. Tap Restart.

Me: Ok...
Karuna: Now, I can confirm that adverts won't appear on your Kindle device.
Me: That has worked perfectly. Thank you very much for your help. Have a nice Christmas and new year.

Took just a few minutes. Easy.
I have just tried and despite me having real issues with two paperwhites (two returned already in the first day) they are adamant they want to charge. Just going to return it I think.
Price now £89.95
price now £109.95!

Could you share what exactly did you say in your email to Amazon? I want to get rid of the 'special offers' cause it bothers me a lot now
Will appreciate the idea what to ask for in the email to customer service... Thanks in advance!
