There is no doubt that ipad is miles ahead, but is it available at this price point?

Buy cheap, buy twice.

If the iPad didn't exist then there'd be a case for buying this "Special Offers" delivery device.

The fact that the iPad does exist makes the Fire wrong choice.

Is this better than the poor performance of the 7HD ?

at this price, this tablet is fine, usable for web surfing, videos etc

iPad is always better but is at least 3x the price

Can you link me to one. Got about £100 to spend but don't mind attaching up a little for some decent storage

Yes, much faster. I was setting up one for a Christmas present. Its faster than the 7 and 8. One big bonus is that it is really simple to put Google app store on it without rooting
This one is actually pretty decent if you stick lineageos on it. Not an ipad, but not 3x worse. The fire 7, 8 or the old 10. They are a different story

Give your iPad to a 5 years old to play with and you may be in tears if the child drops it. At least the fire tablets are cheaper. I do have an IPad since years ago and still works, so the quality is there. I can't stand it anymore and I will replace it with an Android.
I rather pay £100 for an ok tablet such as this one, Huawei or Samsung and replace it every year than paying £500 for an IPad. At least my tech will be up to date.
Does “special offers” mean it frequently pops adverts?

I bought an ipad 2017 for the same price as this. It is still faster and the apps got ios are much better quality. Clearly some will want brand new and won't care about apps, modified this is a decent bit of kit. There are a few in this bracket though, mediapad t5 springing immediately to mind

No popups. just adverts on lock screen

I dont think it's the wrong choice for those on a tight budget, not everyone can afford apple's tech!

Yes, if you get a used Ipad for this price, it is a really good deal. To me Apple makes things a bit more complicated with Itunes, also too many things you need to pay for, so I find Android tablets friendlier. I know there is a way around the Ipad to make things easier too. I've got my son his own tablet, as on the back of my mind, my Ipad is expensive and do not want him to smash it by mistake. In all honesty, it was expensive, but this was 6 years ago :).

Yes, a used Ipad in good condition and cheap is an option, but paying the regular price is a different story, you can get at least 3 very decent tablets and all together will cost less than a new Ipad. The T5 is on the back of my mind, I nearly went for the 3GB RAM one at Very but they are OOS now.

Agree with you on the itunes front - sticking media on these devices is ridiculously complicated!

With limitations though. I found the maps app wouldn't work and a few other glitches.
It seemed the Google play services conflicted with what was already on the tablet.
If you don't plan on using it's GPS feature it'll be fine.

No pop ups, advert on the lock screen only, you barely ever seen or notice them as the screen will usually be black or you'll be using it.
to be honest how can you compair an ipad to Fire HD 10 Tablet at this price i feel its a great price for the kit your getting show me a new ipad at around this price and then you have an argument

GPS chip on the fire 10 is disabled in the kernal from what I've read. If you want GPS this isn't the tablet for you
