What resolution would we need to make big posters looks decent?
I wanted to do a collage and frame it. Does anyone know if it would be a good enough quality for that?

Anything in print usually needs to be 600dpi, probs the higher the better.

Actually a lot of large format printing is lower dpi due to the distant viewing position. You can get away with anything between 200-300dpi for a poster. If it’s a large pull-up banner you can even go 150dpi.

So for 45x30" that'd be about 463 megapixel.. .

Can sometimes get away with 300 DPI for a poster. Depends on the picture and what type of effect you are going for.
