Yeah, I dont think it applies to Diamond Cut Alloys.

I wonder how many miles they will put on the vehicle?

The local guy around here only takes about an hour ot two, and I think most of that is waiting for the paint to dry ... or you can just leave the wheel with him and it's ready a few hours later.

It might be. I think it refers to badly damaged wheels that are not repairable.

But I've no idea what happens if you have 2 damaged wheels (so pay for 2) and 1 is declared too badly damaged to repair

That worked - thank you

But now says:

Validity: Expires 11 Apr 2014.

and

Max wheel size 19 inch.

and

£20 surcharge per wheel for gunmetal grey, gloss black or matt black wheels.

Appears to be a different deal to the one posted which was:

Does that include refit, new valve and rebalancing, or does that become an extra they sting you with

Wheell only these are cheapest at £20 a side wheel drop off only, shot blasted and powdered

£30 if they have to remove and refit though so better if you have spare wheels winter/summer

You don't need a new valve and they don't usually remove the tyre - just deflate it, so you don't need it re-balancing either.

The offer you have posted is different as it is for stripping & shotblasting the wheel. I think this is to repair & repaint to same colour

If they don't remove the tyre, that's not a full refurb surely ?

This is the company and they do remove the tyre
http://midlandswheelsandtyres.co.uk/wheel-refurbishment/

Wheels are removed from the customers car, tyres are then stripped off alloys in house using our highly sophisticated tyre equipment (price reduced if wheels are brought in already off tyres)....

Tyres are then re fitted to alloy wheels with new valves and balanced before being safely fitted to the customer vehicle.

No, it's usually just the outside surface They should paint the whole outside surface as locally painting just the damaged area will always show (but I know some repairers will fob you off with a patch up job)

Wow...in Sussex it cost about £70 for 1 wheel..have some heat

Nice price, shame there isn't a deal fro diamond cut.

I pay £120 for 18" wheels with tyres off and back on with balancing and that's powder coating any colour and IMO that's a lot better for wheels and paint as it's never done properly.

Shame this, owt in the North need mine doing.

Looks like a cheapo touch up job. Waste of money if it is just as you suggest. Worth paying more to get the wheels totally sandblasted, damage repaired and then powder coated. Much hardier finish than a quick spray over.

Yep, that would be a bit annoying for those with a 3-wheeler.

Unless they fit loaner wheels, put these two together:

Vehicle must be dropped off by 9am.

and

If same day service is required, there will be a surcharge of £10 per … If same day service is required, there will be a surcharge of £10 per wheel

and it'd be appealing if I could leave the car with them for an unspecified number of days, or if I had a spare set.

Yeah, I dont think it applies to Diamond Cut Alloys.

Diamond cut are a pain in the ass anyway, I'd get them stripped down and painted in hyper silver instead by someone decent.

So does the £90 include removal and refitting of tyres? If so I will get my winters refurbished as they're a right state.

Is this just a cheap spray job or will they use paint that doesn't fall off with a sniff of a jet wash

They dont remove the tyres? Its not a proper refurb then in my opinion
Too many hoops to jump through too

Birmingham City Powder Coaters do it for £20 a wheel, no extra charges for black and gunmetal etc, they repaired minor dents on my alloy wheels too! Obviously its powder coated and not sprayed

Add £10 per wheel if the tyres are left on so they have to get them removed, but a tyre depo will probably do it for you for about £20 all in, properly balanced etc (if you have a friendly tyre place like me, they do it for free!)

It's cheap but I do question the quality of workmanship.

Remember it's not just about price, also quality and life of the work. Any comments re charges for refitting or removal of tyre and balancing ?...
Edited by: "packard" 1st Mar 2014

That is good, I was quoted £75 per wheel and that was on on 17" Wolfrace Pro Sprint alloys. Was cheaper to buy them brand new at the time.

Seriously
Bodyshop near me did my sons 16s for 30 each last year
They lost the vat of course so £120 for all 4
Worth looking around
They did a good job
Another place a friend used they refused to repair blistered laquer as the wheels had been used in the rain wtf
£90 on this deal is a good price if the finish product looks good and lasts
I wont name them as hes pushing for the wheels to be sorted
