10p per wash!! I saw this on a tv advert today.. So I thought I would share it with you all in case anyone is interested!

If I'm honest, I have never used this stuff, but apparently it was Which? Number one in 2012...

Is Aldi (and other companies) paying Which? for the advertisement?

Aldi's Magnum washing up liquid also came top in Which!

i've tried the almat liquid and it works a treat

magnum is better or just as good as fairy in my opinion

Not at all Which? is totally independent. It does however show that at times we are paying too much for branded items, when washing powder like this has been proven to be better or at least as good. I haven't tried this before, but might give it a go if it means saving money without compromising quality.

If you're after an even cheaper washing up liquid, try sainsburys basics, best of the cheaper ones I've tried!

Regular on our shopping list, although there appears to be a shortage of non-bio in stores at the moment.

I've tried the washing up liquid but noticed something odd. The smaller bottle seemed to last forever, so next time we went to Aldi I thought I will buy the bigger bottle because I loved it that much. The bigger bottle didn't seem to last half the time though, very strange. Definitely going to try this washing powder though, £2.99 is a fab price. Got to love Aldi!

This one really beats all others except Ariel. Very very good washing results, using it for 4 years now-absolutely perfect. Smell is not so great, but fabric softener helps here.
Recommend to try for all sceptics, doesn't cost a fortune and you will be amazed with results.

I tried it once and it seemed to clump together in the dispenser tray and not flush out properly. I'll maybe try again the next time I need some.

do you think "which" would survive if it was discovered they rated items by how much money they got paid? oO

I do agree, but they do operate now in a very different way from the way they used to operate. There are far more opportunities for this sort of criticism to be made.

Everything can be bought for money, Which? is not different...
Personally, I never trust any reviews or awards-no matter are they from Which? or someone else. Best is to try by yourself, not to listen to others. Using this washing powder for years, and they are good. Tried so advertised Bolt aftershave from Lidl-and it is crap, smells exactly the same as Boss but just for 15-ish minutes, then it is gone.

That is pretty interesting - didnt know that thanks. However I still think the Which best buy testing is pretty reliable for things like this.

What a lot of nonsense - but as you said don't listen to others.

That is once they've been awarded a Best Buy - why shouldn't companies pay to use the logo etc. that Which? has copyrighted? AFAIK, Which? buy all their products themselves - they don't accept review units from manufacturers. One could argue this helps minimise unscrupulous use of the logo etc. by companies that don't deserve it.

ive used this for years and its very good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Independent or not, stuff like this (with a click-through link which Which? benefits from) amongst the members' web pages doesn't exactly enhance Which's reputation:

Deal of the week: cheap Silentnight Memory Foam mattressSave 10% on this Silentnight Memory Foam mattress

Silentnight 3-Zone-Memory-Foam-Rolled-03

This Silentnight 3 Zone Memory Foam mattress is currently reduced by 10% at Sainsbury's, plus you can collect 672 Nectar points.

This sort of thing would have been out of the question until fairly recently, and although it brings money in, it does, I think, damage Which's reputation in some people's eyes.

Next you go, double check the bottles. The bigger one isn't the same as the smaller bottle.
The smaller bottle is the magnum one which as a "best by which"
The bigger bottle is a basic range one.

Do they do this in a liquid version?

Yep but its not as good as it used to be as it seems to be watered down more these day's meaning you have to use more!

Me too and quite a few comments on MSE saying the same. I also found that with the colour powder the colours were fading far quicker than with other brands.

Is this on offer then? if not i dont see the deal, we could all list lots of items from stores like this, ive had a couple of deals removed because they where classed as 'long term offers', the site will be full of them.

I've been using the Almat washing liquid which is brilliant but my washing machine repair man recently told me liquids not so good for the machine, he recommended swapping to powder as it contains a small amount of bleach which helps keeps the inside workings of the machine cleaner ! So heat added !!

PLUS powder cleans far better than liquid detergent

What do you think? What about the whole ethos of being the primary UK comsumers' champion?

Let me give you a tip for keeping dishwashers and washing machines clean. A very experiend AEG repair man once told me to run the min wash program on an empty load having poured half of bottle of vinegar. I do this a couple of times a year.

I use a full bottle of white vinegar in the machine on its hottest wash |(no spin) every few months; get the vinegar from Asda

you can also use the cheapest washing powder, these tend to have a higher bleach content which helps to break down all the black gunk and grease from inside your machine, tip though, always do a dark wash AFTER you have done a service wash, sometimes some of the gunk remains in the drum which can then transfer to your whites, if you only use 'non bio' in your machine you should do this more often, i always thorw in a limescale remover tablet, you can buy these in most supermarkets.

A lot of ALDI products are better than the "main" supermarkets, and much cheaper too, good to see Aldi and Lidl showing they can be better than the usual group, and quite a bit cheaper too.

Too many conspiracy theorists on this site!

We use a bottle of dishwasher cleaner and half a bag of soda crystals on the hottest wash. Might give the vinegar idea a go some time though.
