Great price for a half decent laptop with a lower mid range graphics card. Not mad on Lenovo, but happy to overlook it at this price. Was £679.99 IMPORTANT - to get this price choose buy now pay later option (according to other posts on Very laptop deals at the moment, you need to wait until the £100 is credited to your account before paying any money? Apart from paying the £3.99 carriage charge) and not a good idea to risk the £100 credit back on the account by adding any other codes or using cashback sites, I suspect!

I've put my money (or my credit account at least) where my mouth is

If it wasn't Very I would have voted up. In the circumstances I won't vote either way

YAWN .... I have had 3 accounts for different family members (of course) over the past 10-15 years and have literally hammered the discount codes (that used to do the rounds regularly) on every one and have NEVER ever had a discount retracted after it had been applied.
I know some had problems with them and I acknowledge that but that does not mean everyone encounter similar problems . In fact I believe they are much clearer on their deals now and the events of the past should not bear any relevance to this deal presented to us now.

I have used a credit back to your account on Very once before and it did go through OK. I'll certainly be complaining if I don't get it! Like I mentioned I think the key is not to stack with other offers or cash back sites which the t&cs do state to be fair.

I've had problems with Very discount codes before. I'd be careful.
On the positive side, this is a good deal if it comes off.

My friend has had good experience with thrm too. But for some reason, I couldnt get any credit through them even though my credit rating was maximum. And we lived a mile from eachother

hey this has already been posted

actually no a different one, I'd go for the ssd version.

That doesn't have the graphics card, this does, horses for courses though

Surprised this isn't going hotter - clearly not the market for a mid range gaming laptop I expected there would be. This is genuinely about £100+ cheaper than I can find for anything near it in spec at present.

should be clear it is £480 in the title.

Not everyone can get the 20% off.

And at £480, it is not a good price.

Most people ought to be able to get it, Very don't set a terribly high bar for their credit IMO.

And at c.£380 it's amazing value - most laptops under £500 have Nvidia 920m at best - this rates better than the 940m. You can (and people do) easily pay the same or similar amount for an i5 laptop with just basic intel graphics.

Well it arrived....I say it arrived, it didn't. Instead they sent a 14inch 1i3!!!!! Fail!

This type of mistake seems happen way too often with Very.

If I remember correctly, during Christmas, there was a laptop deal from Very, a lot of people were sent different laptops other than what they bought.

Original Poster

Now out of stock - I REALLY hope they've sent me the correct one this time (should find out tomorrow)

Original Poster

Update - correct one now (after having had to chase the postman for it). Have done a full scan with malwarebytes having heard the previous horror stories with Lenovo plus superfish and a couple of other nasties - all clean it seems!

One thing I'm not keen on is it seems like changing the battery is a major operation involving dismantling and not sure if even allowed under warranty Quite stylish however (for a white silver laptop at least)

Anyway, looking forward to being able to finally play Max Payne 3

Anyone else get one and if so, you having regular blue screen crashes?

I got blue screen saying error code 0c0000034,need a rebootable disc/usb couldn't even start up in safe mode to repair, rang very, great customer service, they picked it up next day, I can re-order in seven days, and they will still give me the £100 cash back to my account.

Original Poster

I've had various different bsods, I contacted lenovo and they said to use the recovery option. It crashed again after it was rebooted but I think may be behaving itself better now it's installed most of the updates.... Fingers crossed. Just trying to decide whether I want to risk redownloading max payne 3!

Well now I know why this deal didn't go hot - the customer service from Very is just appalling. Kept crashing after a reset and it took FIVE calls, multiple tweets and several failed promises to actually get to get a return agreed. Appalling - they wouldn't know Customer Service if it smacked them in the face wearing a t-shirt saying "Hi I'm Customer Services how can I help you". Shame because if it had worked the deal was unbeatable value. Still, last time I shop Very or buy Lenovo...
