From Manchester: Orlando Holiday August 2018 School Holidays, BA flights, Hotel + Breakfast, Car Hire & Florida Tickets £4452.34 (family of 4) £1113.08pp @ Alpharooms
I've stumbled across some cracking flights in the August school holidays to Miami for around £250pp - a bargain, for British Airways flights and well worth the drive from Miami to Orlando. There are l… Read more

Days Inn Miami International Airport and then switch to a Comfort Inn near Universal.I also didn't take into consideration that people interested in this may not have young children, for the same reasons above, this is posted as a "package" for 2 adults and 2 children and even broken down into a price per person!!!The temperature of the deal doesn't mean anything, as proven time and time again on this site where a deal can be posted and not even surpass 50 degrees and then someone can come along and post exactly the same deal a day or so later and it reaches 1000. It is more than likely people reading the title and hitting the heat button without looking at the finer details. If the OP hadn't posted this as a "package" and just made it about the flights, then I could take your points on board, but as that isn't the case, you have just made totally irrelevant comments to what the original deal is about. As I said, each to their own! But if you are looking to travel on these dates and are willing to effectively lose a night on arrival, most of the following day travelling up and getting checked in and then half a day or so on the last day travelling back down, completing an approx 450-500 mile round trip all in a compact vehicle with room for a couple of holdalls, then fill your boots!

Thank you - I will fill my boots on the part of this deal that appeals to me and my family. I think you're clearly missing the point of this site if you feel that each deal needs to be spoon fed to an individuals requirements.

However when broken down. This "Package" identifies options that clearly indicate one of the cheapest ways to accomplish a Disney Package with this specific ticketing choice per person. In fact if you want that specific ticket, with that specific flight, the only way to beat it would be to buy cheaper, better accommodation. Good luck with that.

Also - Just FYI, If the price is per person. Many flight operators consider children to be up to the age of 17. Now I know you will probably counter my opinion here with a witty comment about the amount of "leg room" in a "compact car" for that horrible 3.5 hour journey, but believe me, when I gave my daughter the choice, she was more than happy for me to chose a compact vehicle size to get us across the state to our accommodation.

In fact, when I gave my 13yr old lad (Still a child the last time I looked) the option of compact car versus "not" going to Florida. Guess what? He opted to take the compact car and 3.5 hour journey as well.

As I said. Yin & Yang depending on budget and attitude. Some people clearly have more money than I do. Good for you if you fall in to that category. Well done.

BTW: When talking about units of time, you can actually compare any two journeys from point A to point B.

In fact the very reason most people visit this site is to save money that they could better spend elsewhere. Tens of Thousands of people choose to fly in to Sanford airport when visiting Orlando for this exact reason. But then I do not have money to burn. WRT: Hire car. Did you ever consider that some/many people may own properties in Florida and may not need luggage? Some people also may be frequent visitors to Florida and KNOW that travelling with a 20Kg Suitcase full of clothes is not always necessary for 14 days. They may also not have young children.Park ticket requirements are always subjective and dependant on the individual requirements. Pretty certain most of the items detailed in this deal are there to help others make decisions around how they holiday rather than to push them in to copying the deal in its entirety. I think the temp of this "ridiculous" deal speaks for itself really.

Then there's the journey back. This is without even taking into consideration that the vehicle that the OP has priced in this "deal" is a Chevrolet Spark (or similar) so effectively a Compact vehicle. Good luck getting all of your luggage for 10 days, 2 kids and partner/wife/husband in one of those. Oh and let's hope the vehicle you get assigned or can select from has AC! (not a given) Then the OP poster has priced for "full monty" tickets for 14 days. Absolutely ridiculous to think that you can squeeze, not even everything but even most things these tickets offer into 10 days! Most of the money you are saving by inconveniencing yourself by not flying direct to Orlando is then wasted in this overkill combo ticket as well as the 2 nights/day you are losing travelling from and to the airport. Be realistic. Yes the flights are relatively cheap for that time of year, but there is a reason! Each to their own I guess, but personally I'd of hated for people to see this "package" and think it's a great deal with just 1 sided opinions and book it all as laid out.

Heat! This is a cracking deal!

Already booked our flights for next August with TC or would have considered this. Probably would have flown from Miami to Orlando rather than drive. 'We normally stay at a Disney hotel so use Disney transport from the airport.
Love Disney and spend far too much each year going, theme parks in the UK are totally different. We wouldn't go to them at all.
if you have never been before there is a brilliant site "thedibb" for UK visitors to Disney which gives loads of advice. I have found out so much info from their forum.
main advice is to get to the Parks early and make good use of FP+.

My sister has a scuba diving business in Gozo, call in and say hi

Whilst obviously not as warm as the Canaries, Malta itself is so much more interesting, with fantastic history and sights. However, although I don't know this hotel and it's specific hotel, my brief time in Bugibba waiting for a bus connection made me glad I wasn't staying there - seemed the most "Costa Del" type of place on the island.

As a Cypriot I would say that mid-November is a hit and miss if you are looking for sun. You can never know with these crazy weather changes. I would say that the weather would be similar to what we currently have in the UK (I live in Nottingham). Even if going to the beach is not possible, there are plenty of places to visit if you rent a car and go to the mountains. Search for troodos mountains, tzelefos bridge, omodos, kakopetria, lofou village. You can also go to limassol marina etc.

Link is not working

Great deal post, really good work on the instructions.

Great price but probably the worst time of the year to be there if you're looking for sun. Heat added anyway as I can go visit family.

It's good to get some feedback on the car hire companies, but I can only give information based on what I have seen on the booking pages and in the terms and conditions. For example, the one with Vehicle Rent I mentioned I've just read through all the terms and conditions and payment details and I can't see nothing which indicates you would have to pay more than what's on the payment screen. I believe this is with a company called OK Rental which is another one that appears to have terrible reviews, mainly due to the problems people have had with the insurance options etc. Screen shots below.

https://i.imgbox.com/FTcOqs5O.pnghttps://i.imgbox.com/5fzyZeW1.pnghttps://i.imgbox.com/7VfLIN6V.pnghttps://i.imgbox.com/LHZvTcGK.pnghttps://i.imgbox.com/8IdKcZao.png

I think it's important when renting from any insurance company to do your homework and make sure you know exactly what you are signing up for and make sure you know what the excess is and that you are covered whether it be with the car hire company, or thorough other options. I've taken to filming around the car when inspecting it with the car hire rep making sure any issues are raised and recorded before rental and also on the return to avoid any problems after an incident with Avis. May sound a bit extreme!

It's great that people have some good experience at using local companies and I have used a range of local companies myself including Airbnb to rent a motorhome abroad. The company someone mentioned called Poppy rental has availability at €235. Again, it's up to you which company you use and your budget and for anyone who books this I would encourage you to look at some of the suggestions from regular travellers to Menorca.

Happy travelling!

rachelandgromit

Yep, I've used vehicle rent, argus car hire and holiday autos all before … Yep, I've used vehicle rent, argus car hire and holiday autos all before with no problems.... I've also used more popular ones like Avis, Europcar and Budget too.

Hi Rachel

I think everyone on here appreciates the work that goes in to finding a deal and taking the time to post it! What gets people a little confused is when deal does not quite add up or is confusing.

For example, a lot people know that GoldCar, OK Car, et-al rental firms are more or less scams, you never pay the amount shown. You get hit with super high additional charges etc for insurance and big excesses. When you post those "deals" like here, you wont ever get an easy ride b/c people are irate about scammers!

Likewise when you do a reply showing you can get another deal on a website, you went all the way to pay page and then don't post that it damages your legitimacy even further.

My honest opinion and advice would be to post "prepaid" car hire prices, the ones you pay NOW not the one you pay at the desk from legitimate car firms. They don't have to be Avis etc. As mentioned Poppy car hire is well known on the island, though often booked early.

I would be wary also, lots of people on here (are you guessing you I have been to Menorca a few times or more!?) often visit the same locations so they know some good info but if you post seeming to be the fountain of knowledge on said location you might receive cold votes of a bit of bashing in the comments.

also can you confirm what dates this is for?

seems a good deal but the title seems to imply car hire for the duration but is priced for a day. This has already been pointed out and is misleading.

antenna

And you believed that?...............I dont think you haver EVER hired a … And you believed that?...............I dont think you haver EVER hired a car from one of these brokers/companies before or you would know better.........type the name of the actual car rental company into google and add the word scams, and then think twice before posting holiday bargains that include car hire.

Jesus wept, go easy,

firstly, the rental price is all the OP can go on. Whatever hidden costs come at the desk is out of ops control. So maybe there is fuel tank and tax etc. But that is at the rental desks discretion so OP cannot put that here.

Secondly, get a grip, op is posting a reasonably priced get away, that the op has researched and checked, including proof. The op has not put forward a package holiday, feel free to go Thomas cook and see how much that would be.

Instead of being so critical, say thanks to the OP and reprice it yourself with whomever hire car you would prefer.

Thanks OP, good deal. Hot

At least two meals are covered though. As I said, not voted. Portinax is a quiet village, can't think think where the nearest reasonable supermarket is (post office is cheap for booze though). Hope 3 kids are happy with the beach, a few swings/slides, and I assume an apartment block pool, because with no kids clubs and evening entertainment there could be some grumbles.

Luggage can be added on at an additional cost with both Monarch and Ryanair. I think Monarch hand luggage allowance is 10kg. I haven't included it here as in August I've no idea what a family of 5 need luggage wise. I mean do kids need 10kg each? I did two weeks in Japan on less than 10kg of luggage but each to their own.

I'm unsure on the city tax, but I know lots of European destinations, eg Italy have this which is normally settled upon arrival at the hotel. Of course you can change the hotel for an AI one, and you could hire a car. I think it depends on what facilities want, some want an AI resport where they don't need to move for a week, others prefer to get out and about. The hotel website gives some indication of what is nearby and activities but there appears to be shops nearby for food and drink too. The hotel webaite is here

The transfers via bus with holiday taxis have good review and are on cash back sites. You can also look at transfers with hoppa.com or similar.

Each to their own, two people have messaged me who have booked this so I guess it's weighing up inconvenience versus cost. For some people they prefer to pay extra to fly direct others would rather use the money they saved towards another holiday. I'm just showing budget school holiday deals do exist with some compromises.

'Flights also have a short stop in Madrid but it's a quick plane change, no more of an inconvenience than Ryanair or Easyjet and Iberia are more comfortable.'

what planet are you from? lol no tar

Ironically I've never has any delays with Ryanair or Easyjet. In fact, every flight I've ever taken has got me in early. My longest delays have been with BA from London to Manchester!

It's a budget airline, it is what it is and in the main, the price reflects that.
