Please use code HALNEW10 to get tjhis price.

Normally retails for £150, and approx £120-130 everywhere else and gets good reviews. especially good as it has the Parrot handfree system with a seperate mic which produces much better call quality than usual bluetooth stereos where the mic is built into the headunit.

I opted for the halfords fitting in the end for the extra £30, although some may be able to install themselves. Hope its useful for someone!

There's also 2-DIN version for £135

Great head unit voted hot. Paid £180 when they first came out

I have the CDE-113BT version of this and bought it early last year when looking for a Parrot Bluetooth set. As opposed to a new stand-alone Parrot set which appeared complicated to fit and costing in excess of £100 I got a new CD/Radio PLUS Parrot bluetooth for under £90. The Alpine sound quality is exceptional and with its Iphone/Ipod connector (which is at the rear of the set (mine included a lead) and also a USB connector (at the front of the system).....it really is a great up to-date set at this price.

One downside I found is that fitting it in a 2001 Ford Focus the "normal" retail patch leads will not allow hands-free control from the Fords steering controls. Alpine themselves sell the correct connector but it costs £50.

halfords staff havnt got a clue of fitting car stereos properly. I did work for rival and the amount of people that came to us to get their fittings corrected was beyond belief.
A good price for the CDE133 .. But its because they are clearing stock as that model is now superseeded by the CDE173..
VOTED HOT For price point of this unit.

Damn this is the exact car I'd be fitting this on and I use the stalk controls a lot.

VOTED HOT !,

great price, i have been after this for the last year or so

Great deal, don't be scared to fit the stereo yourself, its a lot easier then you might think!

Pardon my ignorance about in car audio systems, but will this unit be sufficient to play music files on a usb stick or do we need an external music player e.g. iphone, mp3 player etc to play the music files.

Secondly, my car has a standard CD player how easy it would be to fit this in the car. Does this involve any change in the audio wiring system?

That's interesting because I also bought the CDE-113BT earlier this year for my Ford Focus C-Max from Halfords. I bought the patch lead at the same time for £2.50 and it works fine with my steering wheel controls. I found it didn't work first time which is what it said in the instructions but it did the second time.
Have to agree, if this is anything like CDE-113BT, it's an excellent unit. The bluetooth and Ipod connected via USB work really well.

Anyone knows if i need a new harness adaptor for a 2003 vw Golf Mk IV?

Just ordered one thanks

Ordered have some heat - use topcashback too.

To find if it fits your car use the link on the page - tells you what you need.

I need a new fascia and harness for my Seat Leon mk1

Not sure why I would need this though - Signal Separation Filter ISO

I am ordering these elsewhere far cheaper and picking up the player in store monday

MP3 files on a USB stick will be fine. I use a relatively cheap (read: slow transfer rate!) 16gb stick. The only slight problem is that it takes a minute or so for my head unit to recognise all the music on there!

If you current head unit looks the same size as this, changing units is quite easy really. all the wiring from the car feeds into a two connectors which you just click into the back of your new unit. You will also need to connect the aerial lead into the back of the head unit. Again, very easy.

Hope that helps.

I would have had a go normally, but this one is slightly more complicated as the mic needs to be taken round the dashboard, run up the A pillar and fitted head height. I have a lot of factory fit trim that needs to be taken out on E39 5 series, along with airbags fitted in the A pillar, will probably break some clips, etc.

For the sake of 30 quid, i will just let these guys take care of it, they do these things day in day out, and my local Halfords fitters are actually very good and knowledgable. I found out which wiring harness and fascia adapter i needed on the net, then ordered all of it on amazon, came to about £15. I think the fascia alone was £25 at halfords, so some of their accessories are well overpriced!

Liquid ice sell a full fitting kit on ebay for my Seat leon for £13.50, fascia, harness, and aerial adaptor

Good price. Voted hot.i have reserved one and will pick it up on Monday if it's still available.

For steering control issue, watch the following link and it may be helpfully.

That link you posted, says 'Video not found'.

Ahhh reserved but the realised it only has 1 pre out.... Need two for sub and front speaker amps.

If I'm streaming music over bluetooth and I skip on the radio, will this skip the song or does this need to be done on the phone?

You need a much better stereo for running a sub and seperate speakers on an amp, a 7 band eq and HI/Low filters are a must or your setup will sound terrible.

Just search cde-133bt update on YouTube. It says video not Loaded because I was using my tablet and link is for mobile devices.

Yes it does

there is also a Kenwood KDC-BT4U for the same price on halford's site.

How is this in comparison to this one

ChrisRX you may be lucky and get it to work in your car as another poster said it worked in their c-max. Both myself and halfords staff tried to get it to work but no joy with the steering stalks. Was offered a different cd player but alpine sound with parrot is excellent so kept unit .

WARNING

I found this thread on the apple website so might be worth a read if you intend to use the bluetooth with an ios6 ipod/iphone

IT DOES NOT WORK WITH IOS 6

The following features no longer work when connected via bluetooth:-
1) headunit does not display info/metadata from ios device
2) you cant operate the ios device from the head unit e.g. next/previous audio ...

it seems alpine does not have a fix yet.

I am taking mine back to the shop

Give me an iPhone any day the A2DP feature will still work its just the advanced iPhone features that wont and you cant use them on Android anyway
