I was in Tesco at the Forge in Glasgow and saw they had a selection of Alpro Soy and almond milk and lots of other brands of rice, and oat milk for less than 40p, we bought lots.

Do not see this listed, apologies if I missed it.

ah, was this RTC?
they were selling this for £1 a carton a few weeks back, as its normally £1.68 this is an amazing deal!!!

Heat! Love the almond one.

Was it the refrigerated cartons, or the shelf cartons please?

On the shelf cartons, but as far as I know the Alpro fridge ones are exactly the same?

Store specific? Normal price online...

These should have a warning on them, people with thyroid problems shouldn't go near anything Soya

Not available in local Tesco

Sounds store specific but good find.

It is possibly just this store, I can upload the receipt if needed. Some of the brands were under 'New' like Oat-ly.

Yeah I agree, but the almond milk is great. Tastes much better than soya anyway.

Was it sweetened (blue carton) or unsweetened almond milk? (orange carton). Thanks OP.

We got the original almond, choc and oat from alpro. We also got rice, soy and more oat from other brands

I imagine it's store specific, but will have a look tomorrow in my local one.
Will be buying the lot if it's that cheap as I go through a fair bit.

Heat. Hope this is national. Thanks OP.

Thanks. Hope I can find some as I regularly drink alpro almond milk (and it is expensive!). I normally have the one from the fridge but I presume this is similar, just UHT....

The shelf ones will be heat treated at the very least.

That isn't the manufacturers responsibility.

There is no evidence suggesting that a bit of soya based product would be detrimental to patients suffering with thyroid problems. Excessive consumptions may affect the absorption of the synthetic replacement but as I say it would require a significant amount of soya based products to have an, if any, affect.

Personally, I wouldn't know what that tastes like. Thanks for your insight, it is ever-so informative.

price wise good deal would i buy it NO but heat added

both the same, high temp pasteurised so they can last for ages in the cupboards or otherwise (look at the best before dates on some of the refrigerated juices you would be surprised to see them lasting sometimes for 3 months)

Nationwide? (wouldn't want to travel far to get these since buying anything else from tesco would likely lead to bankruptcy

I always wonder how people are able to make such an informed decision, actually I don't wonder I just worry....

Long time since you went to Tesco then, I used to shop at Aldi and the other budget stores for a few items but found almost no difference in price. You can still buy cheap stuff at Tesco it's just you have the option of buying premium also, you can buy fresh fish, bread, deli etc for similar prices to the rubbish you will find at Aldi.

not at this price in local Tesco Extra. Shame

Read the cartons, I thought the same. Fridge ones say they need to be kept refrigerated and shelf ones say they need to be kept in a cool dry place. I don't get what the difference is

Yes they sell a similar product in the fresh AND regular shelf, even packeging looks similar, but there must be SOME kind of difference I reckon one is pasteurized the other UHT just guessing though if someone has the time compare them using mysuperket. I tend to buy the fresh one as they are often the same price and presume it's "fresh" same in the sam way as pasteurized milk.

did anyone else find these?

Fresh was regular price in my local on thursday.

Couldn't find long life stuff anywhere in the store on thursday (and was looking for soya milk). Seem unikely they would stop selling UHT soya milk altogether. Wasn't in the reduced area either though.
