Alpro coconut milk 1Lt - 30p @ Tesco

Found 15th May 2014
This is my first post, so please be gentle :-)

Tesco currently sell 1 litre bottles Alpro coconut milk on special for £1.

However, if you pick up a copy of their free magazine, there is a coupon for 40p inside (within the first few pages, I cant remember which one it was).

Also, TopCashback's Snap&Save promotion are currently offering 30p instant cashback upon the scanning of your receipt.

So £1 - 40p coupon - 30p snap&save = 30p bottle of milk

Go quick though, because the Snap&Save promotion ends on May 19th.

I've not tried it yet, but as you say, not bad for a punt :-)

Smells nice but like drinking shower gel. Good price though, might try it in tea or coffee this time.

Last time I ordered this online (this Monday), the 40p off code was no longer working. You may need to call Customer Services to push it through or for a refund if that happens. But it will probably go through without problems in store.

Heat for the effort and deal though.

This is great in tea / coffee for those (such as my wife) with dairy intolerance. Great deal, thanks. Heat from me.

Do coconuts have nipples?

This stuff also works as a cheap laxative if you drink the whole carton. Talking from experience unfortunately.

awesome, cheers!!!

Use it as a base for smoothies.

Meh, i'll give it a try for that price... Always been tempted to taste my coconut shampoo - it smells so damn nice.
Cheers.

Avoid this if you have asthma, as it contain's Carrageenan. I used to advocate coconut milk until I found most brands contain this.

Superb price! I wasn't the biggest fan of the coconut, love the hazelnut one tho!

For a really yum drink mix this coconut one 50/50 with the hazelnut - its a kinda heavenly alpro bounty

I use the original unsweetened soyabean Alpro due to milk intolerance. It's about the only one I can take in tea/cereal/porridge. I might try the coconut one for smoothies though

Slightly off-topic but I wish Alpro would make smaller cartons than 1 litre. It lasts 5 days in the fridge but I find if I don't have cereal during that time I only use for a cup of tea now and again and end up wasting over half the carton every time. Checked and it says do not freeze - has anyone tried freezing and what happens?

Prefer soya milk myself (I get the Alpro fresh original which does not curdle)....it's like cream, but without the fat...

Yes Koko is carageenan free, even the chocolate is (checked the carton at Bodypower yesterday). Soya is a no good alternative, it's estrogenic, difficult to digest and can cause thyroid issues. A good coconut milk or almond milk are the best alternatives to those with lactose issues. Most of the Allpro milks contain carageenan, even the soya. Although for some reason there Almond milk does not contain it.

Depends on the quantity consumed. You would have to drink quite a lot to get adverse effects. It's a good sub for milk unless you consume tons of soya. I have 2 tea or coffee a day a litre carton lasts a week.
