Alton Towers have a new 2018 Season Pass; does not include car parking.
Costing £55 for guests of all ages, the pass grants access to the theme park throughout the season, excluding Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in August and the first weekend of September, as well as Scarefest and Fireworks dates, although entry on these dates can be purchased for £10.

Does all the car accidents, plane accidents, workplace accidents etc etc etc stop your from doing everything else too? Theme park accidents like that are extremely rare and only significant one I can think of at alton towers, I suspect safety procedures will have been increased no end since that accident, won't ever stop me going, I'd hate to live wrapped up in cotton wool!
That sounds horrific, you have my sympathies.
And food poisoning you say.
The HSE report on the incident is very clear: 2 people overrode the safety controls.
The system worked. The workers failed.

Has it really put you off? If that's the case then do you not travel in a car, on a plane, in a boat, walk outside your house etc etc etc.
I'm fine with all that just not goin theme park
if its not for you then thats fine...dont add negatively to a great deal...
It’s just his/her opinion. Tbf most people would be sceptical of Alton Towers in particular the ride in question as it malfunctioned following the accident.
That being said I’ve been on the Riddler after the crash and I can see why it could be a real risk but I’m a brave b*****.
You do know all roller coasters do have "brakes", and in the case of Alton Towers the system stopped the ride as soon as it detected an issue, it was a user that forced it to continue.
Think of how trains work with the red lights, the "driver" should stop at red lights when the next section of track is still occupied, that is what happened at Alton Towers, however the Controller overrode the signal (which can happen anywhere).
Very true
The type of safety mechanism you described is not something that could be guaranteed never to fail. People smarter than you and me in the field are already in charge of the matter, and there will have been an investigation and overhaul of the systems in place following the accident.
As it stands there are next to zero injuries in UK theme parks. You have more chance of choking to death on a peanut. If injuries were a regular occurence, the theme park would be shut down.
Every system fails eventually.

To be fair, that particular ride breaks down a LOT. Broke down the day I went with people stuck upside down for an hour while the awful music drove them nuts.
No issues here. Click link and scroll down to booking button for 2018 season pass.
Just wish it was closer to me and I would have bought it.
I stubbed my toe once
Yes you have greater chance of being run over by a HGV with a sewer rat behind the wheel.
I thought people go on these super rides to get a near to death experience anyway
That sounds horrific, you have my sympathies.
And food poisoning you say.
I think the point was , what are the chances..?
Sucks to work in a job with no holiday entitlement
Didn't realise people worked 24 hours per day 7 days per week. How do you find time to go to the supermarket and get some food and drink
