Getting there using public transport is still a pain, even from Nottingham. There is a daily shuttle, it arrives at 11 but leaves at 5..

If it was easier to get to, id be there every week ha!

Great price, i will goto the Halloween event this year for sure!

You definitely want fast track.
Last time I went I waited an hour and a half for oblivion while hundreds just walked past in the fast track queue.
Think I got on 5 rides that day.

No queue jumping allowed *

A time based ticketing system would be much fairer but less profitable I suppose
We go Legoland (a lot!) and use a fast pass - we manage about 6/7 rides so i think you did well at Alton Towers with 5 rides!

Exactly what me and the Mrs got. Excellent value for money
Car park is a scam. Go in and park, nothing is said to you and no ticket is given. But to get out you need to pay a £6 ransom.
What if i don't have Unlimited legs?

That ain't just fast track visitors though!

That will be "disabled" visitors and their parents or "carers"!

Once at LegoLand, we were waiting patiently inline when 6 people (yes, six) from the same family (1 "disabled" visitor + 5 carers) waltzed on by. To rub it in a little more, we'd only been waiting 40 minutes by that time and only had another 30ish minutes to wait.

The same group were witnessed doing this several times throughout the day (that we saw), while we managed to get on 3 rides all day due to how busy it was.

When I asked a member of staff how that can be allowed, they shrugged their shoulders and said what can we do?

We've never went back after that as some people just blatantly TTP!

Last time we went to AT was in 2016 and the queues were horrendous, especially with a 7 year old at the time and again, there was quite a few "Fast Trackers" (which is fair enough, as they'd paid handsomely for it), but most of the queue jumpers were actually "disabled" visitors and their parents/carers swanning on down the exit lane to get on well before we were half way through a two-hour queue.

These were visitors that had no visible mobility issues and it will be even worse now that visitors with "Hidden Disabilities" will now also get free VIP access as well.

So much for us all being equal.

Yes I witnessed this same phenomenon at Alton Towers. One “disabled” (must have been one of those “hidden disabilities” which leave you looking perfectly abled) + five “carers” jump the queue.

Damn right this is inequality in all it’s glory. Disabled people should be treated equally with all people. That mean the bad as well as the good.
Thanks op 🔥

Epilepsy is a great one to use for this.

I know plenty of people who apparently have it and use it to get disability stuff at theme parks.

And epilepsy is hidden unless you have a seizure.

You’re right, but here’s a question: why would having epilepsy prevent a person from being able to queue?

I'm assuming it's because they can't say "Your disability isn't as bad as X person's disability "

With how crazy protected disability rights and equality etc is in this country (which is a good thing overall), it's probably just easier for them to allow it, which sucks for us 'normal' people who work hard to pay for it and then have to queue hard to get onto rides.

And the people who apparently have Epilepsy can get disability benefits money and disability benefits at theme parks.

I say apparently btw because I've known plenty of (younger) people who have either massively played on their Epilepsy (pretended to have seizures etc) or pretending to have it at all. Which is horrible for the people who genuinely have it and suffer awful seizures on a day-to-day basis.
