your fault for living so far away :L

The onsite hotels aren't that great anyway, stayed at Splash Landings last year, quite tatty & the room was no better than a Travelodge (just a bit more themed). Food was expensive and poor quality

If it's an off site hotel, you might aswell get the travel inns or premier for £60 or less in Uttoxeter, Stafford or Stoke. Use bogof tickets for park entrance or Clubcard vouchers.
You can get 2 days by getting a 'bounceback' ticket for the second day once inside the park for about a tenner.

Remember the car park charge has now gone up to £5.

Lukewarm

ha we stayed at rugley travel lodge 16miles away £29.99 with BK outside and little chef very happy with the service
cant comment on entry price as we are merlin card holders

Oh and annual pass holders free car park

Went to Alton Towers last week - armed with our Merlin Passes. Stayed in … Went to Alton Towers last week - armed with our Merlin Passes. Stayed in the Jurys Inn Derby for £20pn......So overall, if the price quoted is per person, its not that good a deal IMHO.Not voted - just voicing an opinion based on last weeks trip.

Yes so therefore if you dont have a merlin pass, and stay in jurys in like you did, it would be £20 for accomodation then the entrance price of either £58 for 2 days buying online or £72 for 2 days buying at the turnstile.

so for one person it would cost either £78 or £92 for £20 accomodation plus 2 day entrance
or for two people it would cost either £136 or £164 for £20 accomodation plus 2 day entrance

in which case the deal specified is cheaper.

Got the Travelodge in Ashbourne in June for £9 per night for 3 nights in the January Sale - Beat that!!!

Excuse my ignorance, which travelodge is nearest and roughly how far is it. I am coming up from London armed with Merlin passes. Also, when does the park quieten down so that the queues aren´t too bad!!

Ashbourne is the nearest and is very new. I think it is about 7 miles or thereabouts.

Yes the Ashbourne one is the closest, but was unavailable when we booked.

We are going for a night and staying at Travelodge Stafford M6 for £35. Two full days with our Merlin pass.

Ill be looking out for Ashbourne in the next £9 sale!

nearly voted hot there, title is misleading !

Guys.

Post is not misleading, you are seeing what you want to see.

2 days entry AND a hotel stay, at this price, is hot whichever way you look at it.....just because you got £9 Travelodge deal 6 months ago doesnt mean you can get it at this price now.

Hot from me.

Stayed at the Ashbourne one 3 weeks ago (for £9). Yes it's about 7 miles away and new (about 9 months old).

However, currently, it sits on it's own with no Little Chef etc nearby. There closest eating option is a pub about 1 mile away, which serves very good food but is expensive. We (2A 2C) had an evening meal there and a few drinks and it came to £80.00.

As for breakfast, we couldn't find anywhere local (the Sainsburys in Ashbourne has no cafe) so ended up at a farm shop cafe on the road back to Uttoxeter.

Steve.

i booked a stay at the alton towers hotel yesterday for august 31st through lastminute at the moment both onsite hotels are £99 per room bed and breakfast, it's £182 for the same room through the website. I'm happy with that, also a fan of travelodge if you book early, i must admit, i have a £9 room weekend near legoland over the halloween weekend.

just wish i had some way of getting there :[
