Useful little remedy, which many people rate. Can't go wrong for a couple of quid surely?

Description

WHAT IS ALUM The alum is a 100% natural dried crystal mineral of (potassium) alum. It is the original antiseptic aftershave which contains mineral salts that were originally used by the Egyptians more than 4,000 thousand years ago for its healing and antiseptic molecules inside the block.

DIRECTION FOR USE: Used after a shave which is rubbed over the wet face, closing up any nicks or scratches due to the astringent properties.

WHERE ELSE CAN THE ALUM BE USED: 'Spots and Pimples': Apply directly to the affected area last thing at night to control and cure a spotty complexion. An Alum can be used as an astringent for oily complexions. 'Antiperspirant / Deodorant / Excess Sweating': An Alum is ideal for those who wish to use a natural antiperspirant. Simply apply the Alum to the underarms for a totally reliable, natural, antiperspirant. Highly effective in controlling excess sweating.

Mother's day present sorted, thanks!

Good product, have been using these for years

ha ha this thread is going to take an interesting turn

no indication of size/weight, 10g? 12g stick.
if i was going to get something like this, i would buy a bigger block, the same as i buy 100 blades instead of 5.
perhaps amazon.co.uk/dp/…c=1
seems a better price/weight offer, 2 x 120g, free delivery.

I just use a styptic when I nick myself shaving - just on the actual cut. Then leave it for a while then wash off. My stick is (probably) a minging 30 years old (or thereabouts).
Just wet the tip of the stick dab on the cut area, rinse the end of the stick and allow to dry.

As already said full block is probably better value, and will last for a long time.

nice splash of Thayers after use..

apparently these sticks, while working out more expensive, are more concentrated so more effective at stopping the bleeding on small cuts and more portable so you can take it out and about on walks for ease

Surely that is not quite right. An Alum block is purely that - a block of 100% Alum.
A sachet of sugar or salt is no more concentrated than a bag, is a fair analogy.

This is the most effective natural remedy for people with stinky armpits

Cheers op I'll give it a try

This'll last for years! I imagine a block would last many lifetimes

Pop into your local middle eastern supermarket... youll get an alum block for £2 or less.

Natural, but not necessarily any better than less 'natural' deodorants.
