This is an excellent desk and now a bargain price! Down to £55.92 for Antique Pine version but extra 10% off with IKEA Family card making it £50.33. I bought one a couple of years ago full price and picked a new one up today in Cardiff - it's a really good quality desk.

This wasn't featured in main sale flyer so maybe a late addition to the sale?

Key features
- Cord outlet at the back; collects cords and cables in one place.
- Drawer for keyboard and mouse; saves space on your desk.
- Veneered on the back, too; can be used free-standing.
- Solid wood, a durable natural material.

Assembled size:
Width: 152 cm
Depth: 65 cm
Height: 74 cm
Weight : 54.9 kg

In store Only.
- Bully

good deal - they usually only have the crap that never sells cos its orange in the sale

That looks very good for the price, tempted

Usual price: £223.66? Usual IKEA pricing manipulation to generate sales! I'd be amazed if they actually sold any at this price.

I'm not denying that. My problem is with the £223.66 'usual price' which I'd very much dispute. IKEA pull this trick too often to make things look like huge reductions.

I dunno what Ikea do with prices as i rarely go, maby 1-2 times a year, it is $399 in Canada, $299 in USA so the £223 does look genuine sort of price

You make a fair point there. I may have misjudged them on this occasion - thanks.

i can never understand who would use a keyboard in a drawer?! oO

if it's anything like the desk i have from ikea (very similar wood, slightly different styling) the front of the keyboard drawer is held by two catches and hinges down by 90 degrees. it is actually very practical.

tempted to get one of these - my desk is a bit battered after various toddlers have scrawled on it, but it is well over ten years old.

Just to say I think that is cardiff only if u look on the sale section of your local store...

This was also on sale in Warrington when I went on Friday, amongst other things, there's some very nice looking glass lamps on sale also which are now very cheap

good un op, dont need it like many things on here. Its good price if you need it

my gf bought at this price over a year ago. it hasn't changed since then afaik

***BUT*** PLEASE BEWARE THIS DESK IS UTTER S**T!!!
The wood is so unbelievably soft that even softly writing with a pen on paper scars it! You can leave a permanent impression just by pushing down fairly softly with your finger tip. And if your chair ever touches the front face of it then you'll be left with craters. Believe me I know.... If we didn't live so far away and hadn't already assembled it then it would have gone straight back. I think they are reducing it because of this problem.

She bought the black version. I FIRMLY BELIEVE IT IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE IN ANY SENSE.

Thanks for this great deal! It has been featured over on the HUKD blog ]Playpennies!

it's only pine and it is self assembly with fibreboard drawer bottoms. not really solid wood.

lks good

Got one in Nottingham , its £54.75 there no extra discount with the Family Card

You cant get one off the shelf you have to find a member of staff and they reserve it for you and give you a printout to scan at the checkout, you then go to the collection desk

Got to be better than this chipboard one i got from Very its falling to bits

And it matches the bookcases we have

Didnt realise pine isn't solid wood ?

Its only the draw bottoms that are fibreboard, gonna strengthen them with a baton of wood under them

Seems a smashing deal
I paid a LOT for a Janke desk (it IS a beaut though - and it can be bought for a LOT less than I paid now) if this had've been available I'd have got this instead

But I have found them to be the complete opposite.

I completely agree... Ikea have a great variety, and some maybe low quality, but the price usually makes up for it... Other stuff is more expensive and better quality. I find even the cheaper things a million times better than other budget furniture places such as Argos... And youcan see the furniture assembled...

Anyone else thinking, like me, that IKEA could sell a whole heap more stuff if they got their act together with their online operation? Not everyone has the time or inclination to visit their stores - particularly if it means a long journey.

A delivery charge of £35 for large items is a total rip-off if you're spending a lot with them, and you can't buy online half the stuff they sell in the stores anyway.

Here's a £10 gift voucher opportunity if you live within an hour of Nottingham, though:

I agree. I live 1 hour from IKEA so go maybe twice a year. Website could be much better and fees improved too.

it doesn't "flap" - it has two sturdy catches either side. you can have it latched so that it is a drawer or unlatch it so you can use a keyboard.

Got last one from Nottingham off display for £45.

Guy in desk area said there wouldn't be anymore coming into stock because they'd sold 3 months worth of stock this weekend alone.

If you still want to check for yourself then suggest you call the Nottingham store and check stock before travelling any distance.

Number is 0845 3552263. Good luck!

I have this desk, I paid more than £233 for it!!!! Don't buy the dark wood - it marks extremely easily!

Ergo this is Hot!

Says on the description "holds up to 19inch monitor"

Would it take the weight of a Samsung 32inch?
Looks pretty sturdy in the pics.

Yeah it will no problem

It's very frustrating,as you say,you can't even get a lot of their stuff delivered,it's simply not available,i don't drive so i either have to get someone to drive me there or go on a train,i wouldn't even mind the delivery charges for furniture, but things i want never seem to be available to be delivered

i meant you get what you pay for. £50 would seem right for what is soft wood self assembly furniture.

Try and find a wood desk anywhere else for £50 i doubt you will, i would say its worth £130-£150, definitely not worth the full normal price i agree

People who suggest an item isn't good quality should not comment unless they've actually bought it or at least seen it in store! Some IKEA stuff is pretty tat but plenty is good quality and you're a bit of a snob if think otherwise!
