It's indiegogo backs but the watch is pretty much in production stage and Amazfit is a part of Xiaomi then you can expect good quality ( Mi band, Stratos etc.).

Buy it know as later is going to be pricey.

EST delivery in August?
Seems rather similar to the old samsung gear fit
What are the thoughts on this watch? Are the metrics (HR, GPS, etc..) accurate on this?
Is the build quality good with Amazfit?
Any negatives with Amazfit?

I like the look of this watch but, ultimately, it must perform.
Please remember to pay on a credit card in case it never turns up..

No-one knows it hasn't been made yet. You always take a punt when you invest in crowd funding projects on kickstarter or indiegogo.

Given that it's from a big company you're more less guaranteed you'll get a watch but ythe performance is an unknown.

Generally, amazfit watches are well made and have great battery life but don't have many smartwatch features.
Microsoft band 3?

I've had the Stratos 2 for a year and a half and the GPS is very accurate. The step count is also accurate along with the heart rate monitoring as long as the watch is fitted properly and not too loose in your wrist.

There's lots and lots of monitoring and stats to look at, puts my other half's Fitbit to shame (which is also not as accurate on distance or GPS).

There's no 'squash' sport setting on it so I use the 'tennis' mode when I'm playing squash.

It has however developed a fault with the screen where there are two vertical lines running across the screen. They don't affect performance, just doesn't look right. I've sent off for an RMA from GearBest (where I bought it from) so hopefully they'll swap it with a new one under warranty.

Build quality apart from that I'd say is very good as I've not taken that much care over it, it's more of a tool to me.

+1 this.

There are third party applications you can use to have extra functionality too if you're into that.
My better half has the GTS, and it’s quite impressive. Really clear with sufficient features for a fitness watch. I have a much older Bip. Cheap, and reflected in screen resolution but it does give up to 4 weeks without charging, very water resistant, and a good internal GPS, so serves the purpose.

What I don’t understand is why this company needs to crowd fund. I thought Amazfit was part of the multi-national hugely successful electronics brand of Xiaomi/Huami.

There’s also the concern on customs.. Will charges be pre-paid at source or will the punter be liable for 20% of value plus £8 RM handling fee as it is over the £15 customs international threshold.
I've had a Bip, band2,3,4, GTR and GTS and I've never been happy with any of them. Unreliable GPS, bugs, crappy apps and features that half work. I have a Garmin forerunner 245 now and I feel like it's the first proper fitness watch I've owned.
Two months warranty on the strap apparently, brilliant.

My Amazfit pace had very good GPS and so-so HRM (like most wrist devices then) and the build quality was decent with ceramic and metal body, two time silicone strap, etc.

The Amazfit, and then Mi-fit software however was pretty ropey and the LCD screen made analogue watch faces pointless.

Ultimately I've moved back to a Samsung Active as they can be sourced for a similar price and the software is streets ahead.

I have the Amazfit GTS and i find it annoying, always loses HRM when exercising
This should be clearer that people aren’t buying the watch they are supporting the idea in the hope of a product
Wish I could just get a MiBand 4 to pair....2 weeks trying on my daughter's phone, though mine pairs fine.

You have probably tried all this but

Unpair from your phone in the mi app, band should look like it doesn't work anymore as not sysnc' to anything

Delete device from settings Bluetooth

On daughters phone delete device from settings Bluetooth

Delete mi app
Reboot phone
Reinstall mi fit app

Move your. Phone in a different room and try to pair.

If it doesn't work does anything else pair with your daughters phone as it maybe faulty

Most likely it’s significantly lower risk than other campaigns but legally that’s all it is a pledge of support no guarantees. I am just saying that it should be made clearer especially as there will be people that have never heard of the crowd funding sites and the risks associated with them; not saying it’s not a good price but there is a coronavirus blurb on every thread seems right there should be one for crowd funding deals?

You said ‘it’s indegogo but...’ I assume everyone won’t know what the implication is
Edited by: "jamhops" 9th May
Good point regarding crowd funding uncertainty of the products advertise there, however there is not that many of them to made a special group on "hot deals"

Thanks for the tips. She did have it connected via Mi Fit, but wanted the Amazfit app (which is what I use). I told her to delete the Mi Fit app first. Tried with the Amazfit and couldn't connect and now we can't connect with Mi Fit! She has tried when I am out of the house so as not to confuse the issue, but still no joy. Clearly, it can connect so it's not a hardware problem.

Make sure you do a factory reset on the band.
You can only connect the band to one phone at a time (afaik) - and it sounds like you are not properly unpariing it from your phone of the previous app.
Delete apps and band devices from phone settings - then do the factory reset on the band and try from scratch

Tried that at the beginning, but may not have been done by my daughter; thanks for the reminder!
