Just popped into Old Kent Road Tesco - they have some amazing Whisky/Whiskey deals!!

£13.10 Bowmore Islay Original Single Malt Legend 70cl
£12.65 Isle of Jura 16 year old 35cl
£15.25 Bushmills 10 year old Irish Single Malt 70cl
£14.25 The Naked Grouse 70 cl
£17.90 Jameson 12 yr Select reserve 70cl

All half price or less. I didnt go crazy and buy them all, left a handful of each! Still had quite a lot of the jameson especially. Madness!

Unsure if these can be found anywhere else. All had a yellow "Price CUt" sticker apart from the Naked grouse which was white.

Fill your boots!

Only half price on inflated starting prices, mind.
Good price for the Bowmore but not for the rest I don't think.

??
To get good single malts sub £18 is brilliant these days! 16 year old jura is normally over £40 for a full size, so 12 for a half - thats pretty good! Jamesons reserve is also twice this price online and the same price as standard jamesons, so thats not too shabby. Naked grouse for the same price as the famous grouse. Ah well. Wont even bother to post next time, as you're clearly too difficult to please!
Outstanding price on the Bowmore (pronounced Bom Ore my mate repeatedly tells me!).
I love Islay malts. Have some heat.

In hindsight I was maybe a bit harsh I am a sucker for Islay malts so didn't pay too much attention to the others. Sadly Whisky has become a cool drink again and prices have gone up fast. My favourite tipple is good old Ardbeg 10yr. Used to me around £25 a bottle but now nearer £40!!

The Jura is pretty nice too. Anyway, I already gave you some heat for the post so don't despair! Go have a dram or two...

Bowmore's nothing special as a malt though £13.10 for 70cl is the best price here.

Equiv £25.30 for 70cl Jura is fair but not really a deal.

Others are not very keen prices.

The original gaelic is bogh mòr, so it's not quite as your friend suggests, but closer than an elongated bow than many go for. I've always been taught it's a short sounding bo (like the start of bomb), with the emphasis on the MORE but again without elongating too much.

There's a useful site somewhere with recordings of all the distillery pronunciations, I'll see if I can dig it out.

Heat for OP for posting as well!
Wow, an intellectual thread about alcohol...I'm impressed guys! Not a great whiskey fan, but can you guys help with the official pronunciation of my favourite drink? I think it's Italian... it's called Lambrini?
