HSBC is trialing a new business banking account, and gives away £100 for the early adopters.
As with most of the new apps, it’s iOS only for now, with android app coming later this year or next year.
Another requirement is that you didn’t previously have a business account with HSBC.

Cause of the £100 voucher
So self-register a new Company with Companies House for £12, send the details to HSBC, join the program, make £88 profit. Now that's good business!

I imagine you'll have to actually have a business to sign up as well. I'd give it a go but I get rejected for every other bank account I try for so probably not worth it.

Rejected for what reason? Business accounts are even more strict on identification. Had to fill out nearly 20 pages with RBS
I've signed up but it says spaces are very limited and they'll be in touch.
It is not meant to replace existing business bank account at this stage so a no brainer really for £100

If you aren't having an overdraft and haven't been declared bankrupt then no credit history won't matter, otherwise no 18 year old will be able to open an account.

Having no ID will make everything in life harder, mortgage, some jobs.

Try starling, if you contact CS to say you don't have passport or driving licence they say they'll help with an alternative

For the record, i'm 50 in a couple of months so a teeny bit past 18

I'm not looking to open an account at the moment anyway as I'm set up with Santander and Nationwide. It was just an idea to have a go at this account for the voucher.

Kinda

At the very least you'd need to figure in a further £13 to then dissolve the company, so £75 profit - just remember to remove the funds from your account before it gets frozen

Reminds me of some classic Alan.

That was a company which we set up. We looked into its operation and closed it down again. It was inoperable. I wonder if I can walk like this. I could have been R2-D2.
At this stage, HSBC Kinetic Beta is only available on iOS for limited companies with a turnover of up to £2m, operating only in the UK with a single director and shareholder and haven’t banked with us before.
The forms and general info is going to come regardless of who you open the account with. Some banks fo this upfront. Others open the account, then make you send a load of stuff in afterwards. If you dont send it in, then they block/close the account.

and then the extra hassle of filling in a self assessment tax return for the £75 profit paid in dividends

Sorry just saw the £100 is in voucher form, so you'd have to go through the hassle of declaring a benefit in kind

No. There's a directors tax free allowance - just because you've got a limited company, that doesn't mean you'd need to carry out a self assessment

Especially so if you opened and also dissolved that company within the same tax year

The dividend allowance is £2000 tax free but you have to declare it. Doesnt matter if you opened and closed the company as it is linked to you personally. Dividends is only distributable from the post tax profits so please educate yourself before giving poor advice. I own my own company and do my self assessments every year

How long did it take for them to send you the voucher? Also, did you actually use the bank account?

The voucher arrived via email the day after the account was approved. It's beta testing the app so you various 'missions' to do. It's not meant to replace your actual business account at this stage.

Can confirm, the voucher arrived the second day.
Has anyone managed to get the voucher as a sole trader without a limited company?
Finally got an email, but won’t let me finalise the register for some reason
