I'd wait amazon will probably do it for £25 next week
FYI 4K Fire Stick does not have 'Mirroring' function which the non 4k seems to keep. This was a important feature for my use of the fire stick to mirror my phone on the tv

The Fire Stick 4K does have the mirroring function (Miracast).

It received an update in April, adding the function.

Anyone reckon it will get cheaper on Amazon?
What does the 4K actually give though compared to the standard? Does it mean when I'm streaming Amazon prime/Netflix it will stream in 4k without having to pay for the 4k subscription fees or will it just allow 4k through the stick? I have a 4k LG smart TV so already have the apps and can connect to it via phone without the need for a stick. Would I benefit from this?

It won't give you free 4k, the content will still be streamed to you in standard def. The only way to get any service in 4k is to pay the suppler for it.
You'll see the same as you do now, the TV will try to upscale the image to 4k...

If you have all the apps you want on your TV no need for this,

On the other hand if the TV apps are slow you could always use one of these

Agreed Paul! Non-smart TVs or old slow Smart TVs. Don't see a need for this if you have a newish TV (unless there's an app you simply can't get on your TV that you really want/need).

Plus, in my opinion, Roku are the best available media players in UK stores at the moment for most people as access to all the major providers (Netflix, Amazon, Google play Movies, Now TV and apple TV) are there.

But if you have an Alexa home, these of course fit in nicely.
