I had to show letter from uni showing confirmation of acceptance of my place on the course. Not sure if it would work for Shaw academy or them kind of e courses. Worth a shot.

How do they tell if you have a student account already

Are you studying, or intending to study:
- a full time qualifying course or a level 4+ apprenticeship on a qualifying course This link will open in a new browser window at a UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man university / college?
- or a part-time course with a Disabled Students' Allowance.
Postgraduates must have completed an undergraduate degree course in the UK in the last three years. To confirm this we must see proof e.g. graduation certificate / diploma or letter from university / college.

Of course it's a deal. You purchase things using your bank account. If it was a deal for a savings account maybe you would have a point.

A great deal, should probably note for the title it is a Student prime account (Certain limitations but not really many)

It will stack with non trial prime.
If you have trial prime you will have a deadline (months away) that will cancel your trial and start the 6months). You can choose to redeem this whenever before the deadline. It is separate from the £60 however given in one code

TERMS and CONDITIONS

b. You must be in your first year of study on a qualifying course (see the Student Bank Account welcome brochure for a full list of qualifying courses).

OP update the post to save people time wasting.

Seems like it's not available to "students" who only have a NUS extra card to confirm status and have "misplaced" any other student documentation

Unless someone can advise otherwise ?

I'm a student for life. I study life. Do I qualify?

I'm in 4th year although it is a masters. I don't think it will matter if you are in year 2 or 3 they just want students to open an account.

It's worth mentioning that you also get £1000 interest free overdraft that you can stooze. My son has a children's TSB current account so I might bang the £1000 in that for £30 profit
Edited by: "Madchester" 16th Oct

Santander £1500 overdraft, Amazon give students free 6 months so do 6 months free with university email then buy nus extra card for £12 and get another 6 months free using the nus card. Also Santander student account gives you free rail card. I'd always go for the higher 0% overdraft over any incentives.

For 1st year students only

This deal was posted a while back. I actually opened an account with them. Was so awkward when I asked about the amazon prime and £60 voucher. The person then told me I won't get it as I am not in my first year. Now I have a HSBC account with no money in it!

How do you get the year free prime? My daughter has signed up for this a few weeks back, got the £60 credit, spent it, but it's only showing as 6 months free Prime??

The same happened to me, the year is basically a 6 month trial then it will add 6 months on automatically. I spoke to Amazon customer service about this and thats what they told me.

NOTE: The gift cards you can win via Android Pay (shown in the screenshot) even has ended today (17 Oct).

Her code should be showing on her student Exclusives, but my Daughters would not validate , Amazon manually do it for you and is only 6months , then they will add another 6 months ( there system only allows 6 months at a time

Whoops I am so sorry. I read it wrong. Basically the promotion will go on 30 DAYS after you activate your card. You will have those days to use Android Pay and win, after that the 30 days the promotion will expire for you.

P.S I made the mistake as it expired for me today

Yeah, I'd rather have the extra £400 0% overdraft
