Spotted this deal today whilst shopping for a new dashcam. With a Sony exmor sensor it should be good in low light like the nextbase with the same sensor. Also like the screen and app features.

For this price I'm going to bite. Happy shopping all.

Here is the spec:

  • CRYSTAL-CLEAR RECORDINGS: Advanced Sony Exmor sensor, wide-angle lense, and Nighthawk Vision technology capture 4 lanes of traffic in Full HD 1080P - even at night.
  • INSTANT VIDEO ACCESS: Use the ROAV app to download, manage, and view DashCam's recordings directly on your mobile devices.
  • MOTION-ACTIVATED: Gravity sensor activates the camera if your car is bumped or moved to automatically record hit-and-runs.
  • EXTREME TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE: Designed to continue operation in 19℉-149℉ and protect data in temperatures ranging from a freezing -20℉ to a blistering 160℉-just stick it in your car and forget it.
  • Worry-Free Warranty ROAV has total confidence in our products and backs them with a 12-month replacement warranty. Note: microSD Card Not Included in the package.

Any recommeded sd card?

NOT SANDISK ULTRA! SankDisk Ultra cards have a real world write limit of about 500 which is met very quickly in dashcams. Their warranty specifically excludes dashcam use and the guys at DashCamTalk have experienced high volumes of failed sandisk cards. I have also had one fail after only a few months of use.

My Toshiba and Samsung cards are still going although I expect these to fail soon as well and are not covered under warranty for dashcam use.

DashCamTalk did a thorough investigation into suitable MicroSD cards using MLC chips but memory prices have since skyrocketed and their recommendations are now unbelievably expensive or not in stock anywhere:
Transcend High Endurance
Kingston Industrial
ADATA Premier Pro

Manufacturers are catching onto dashcam usage though and some now offer "high endurance" cards for dashcam and CCTV usage which use improved memory management chips while still using the cheaper TLC memory. So far they are getting great reviews from dashcam users.
SanDisk High Endurance
Trancend High Endurance (OOS on Amazon)
Lexar High Endurance (recently announced they are pulling out of memory production)

Some final notes:
If it says "lifetime LIMITED* warranty" you can bet that limitation is no DashCam or CCTV usage.
Doubling the capacity will result in half the memory overwrites = double the lifespan for less than double the cost.
Always carry a spare!
I will be replacing all my Micro SD cards with SanDisk High Endurance when my current ones have failed.
Good reviews on Amazon but only about half are 'verified purchase'........I'm not too keen on these products that are given away in exchange for a (good?) review.
To be fair though they do have some good quality products. Can't go wrong with there powerbanks

My current transcend dashcam has been brilliant but decided to black screen whilst on hols last week so been on the look out for a replacement. Hope this is as good. As mussy says customer service is excellent. When my usb charger stopped working they sent a replacement with no quibbling.

To be honest since discovering anker, I will look for anker version of things I now but before I look at other brands. They are indeed quality.

Me too. I had a power bank that got too hot for comfort once when charging. Replacement was sent immediately with no drama.

The stuff is good too. For some reason though Amazon now don't ship their power packs to Northern Ireland.
Does this have GPS? If so can it be turned off?
I've been after one of these for a while, so gone for this. Thanks.
I have 5 Anker products, which is a record for me, as I have no loyalty to any brand.

This is Anker's first attempt at a dashcam. I'm sure the next one will be excellent, but the Roav is mediocre.

The dashcam fanatics at DashCamTalk have concluded that, for example, the A119 is preferable to the Roav.

That's not my experience with the set of microUSB cables I bought from them 2 years ago (out of warranty). All 5 "heads" came loose and refuse to make connection with any of my devices unless placed in a specific position.
Tempted. I might just get this before the day is over.

Good deal and great dashcam, ordered one when they were £80 but got 20% off it as I purchased a car quick charger with it. Is that offer no longer available as I can't seem to find it. All the promotions seem to now be 20% off the charger instead.

For those that like to research their purchases, have a look at TechMoan.com. Impartial and honest reviews of dashcams and all types of similar tech gear. I couldn't see that he'd reviewed this dashcam, but it's a great place to start.
Here's what comes in the box, looks to be a great camera but not had chance to put it in the wifes car yet, it was the parking mode and wifi that sold it to me.

I know, but the promotion took 20% off the dash cam, so I got £16 off my order, just wondering if this promotion is still on as you'd get the dash cam for £44 instead of £55 then. The car charger I bought with it was a quick charge one, as the one in the box isn't quick charge.

No GPS.

This review talks about it and it compares to the successful A119 VIOFO

Thanks very much for your detailsed suggestion. This is surely a great help. Cheers

For me it was the Anker with free Amazon returns and the no quibble replacement from Anker via Amazon.
