Somebody on a different thread recommended ERGear and persuaded me to buy it. Looks better constructed than the one in OP:

    amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1

Had a 50% off code but I can't see it now - possibly because I've used it, possibly not. The previous commenter mentioned that ERGear have vouchers up to 60% off quite often.

And just for info if anyone is interested - the one I linked to is for two monitors but you only need to use one arm, so still useful for one monitor setups.

I am literally printing out the return label for the Huanou one which …I am literally printing out the return label for the Huanou one which looks exactly the same, I went with Huanou because it had more reviews and I have one, albeit at full height and that seemed fine. The 'gas' spring (is there such a thing, isn't it either gas or spring???) just doesn't hold my 25" monitor at any angle other than full height. It does have a good range, but it becomes a balancing act when you move it, you have to slowly let it sit and hope it holds a 5kg monitor, if it starts to fall, try again...I caught it napping on my laptop once, spamming a draft email with kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...Might give the ErGear a go as I am a sucker for punishment...

I have this, holds my 27" monitor and a JBL Bar 2.0 without issue. I pull it right out when I'm playing racing games with a wheel. Just have to tighten it enough with the Allen key for the weight.

Does this sit flush with the wall?

The front of the mounting plate sits about 80mm from the wall positioned like this.

Yea. That's the beauty of an arm, you can easily move it wherever you like. The only time mine isn't at the wall is when I'm playing racing games.

Oh what an image. Mind you my grandad went on a seniors cruise with a box of johnies and a packet of blue bills at 94 so you never know!

    Back on topic,
These type of arms are great for small light monitors but for anything heavier unfortunately the right arm is pricey! I ended up buying this for my 34”

Pretty much had similar issues. Bought from ergear - quality is very good, but you need to be careful with measurements. It is difficult to adjust proper hight as the spring adjustment is good either at max high or max low - but in between is unstable. I was using it for dual monitors and alignment was a nightmare. Also, if you have your table right at the wall - also might be dificult, depending on how wide your table is and where you want your monitor. So, I also sent it back.

It's arrived and setup. I'm really really impressed. It's holding a 7kg wide-screen monitor without any movement.

I have the Invision version of this. Looks exactly the same, and I’d have thought that these were all just rebrands.

Anyway, it is excellent. Haven’t personally had any issues with its ability to keep the monitor (27”) in place. I bought mine because I knew I’d use the portrait position a lot with my emulation setup, and it’s perfect for it.

One word of caution though, and this goes for most mounts that allow you to turn the display. Make sure you have enough length on your power and video cables for when you swivel into portrait, as it’s easy to force and potentially damage the input sockets if you don’t have enough slack. You get what you pay for. I'm very impressed by your acquisition.
I can live with it as it is just to displace my 32" monitor by about 18" and I don't mind if it drags on the cupboard on which it settles.
Anyway, I bought one of these and I have no idea why.
As for your grandfather, good drills and I hope that he used them all up and had to buy more from the commisary.
