Considering this is a £60 game, I recommend it personally after putting around 40 hours to it, this is essential
to anyone looking to pick up the Nintendo Switch.

£60 game? Blimey
This is honestly the best game I've ever played. Absolutely love it. I'm quite nostalgic though and playing this made me feel like i used to when first playing games as a kid. I have horizon zero dawn for ps4 (I've only put in about 8 hours so far on that) but from what I've played it doesn't even come close to Zelda and horizon is amazing. If you haven't got it then buy it, either for Wii u or switch.
This is £48 in most supermarkets/smyths toys/ toys r us.
Rrp, cold.

Mine too and it's the only game that I will play literally all nighters for and i would say it beats OOT and Wind Waker being my other favourite Zelda titles.

Would you recommend HZD then? I've got the PS4 too but hesitant on getting it for the PS4 honestly and not because I'm a fanboy or anything - I own all the consoles.

HZD is brilliant, definitely recommend picking it up at some point. It's one of those you just need to experience.
Is. It. Worth buying a guide for non zelda fans who aren't too familiar with the game. Where exactly are you meant to. Go in the vast landscape. The circular gta type map showing your position doesn't indicate anything where to go

Save your money, plenty of guides to the game online
wow cold votes bizarre. This game is brilliant and cracking at that price. My son bought a Ltd edition of the guide and tbh is really good
Given that the Switch version of Zelda is a half-baked port of the Wii U game, I'm going to wait for the definitive edition when Nintendo decides to re-release the game on PS4 and XBox in order to enable it to actually run at a semi-respectable frame-rate. In the meantime however, I've always got my Wii U original...

Cold votes understandable and not at all surprising IMHO. Yes according to most reviews it is an amazing games BUT don't forget this is hot uk deals, not hot uk game reviews, so the quality of the game is not really the issue, it is the price that is key. At £48 it isn't exactly cheap by any standards, yes the game offers many hours of enjoyable play, but then so do loads of other games, it isn't by any stretch the first open world RPG and won't be the last.

Aside from that, people are probably sick of seeing this game popping up on HUKD, seems to be another deal thread for it every other day and often all around the same price as retailers have no incentive to discount it significantly with it being such a popular franchise and about the only game worth playing on Switch....
I hated this game. So much filler... filled with... nothingness...

lol you're gonna be waiting a long time for a PS4/Xbox version. Nintendo have enough in the bank to last until 2050, so flops like the Wii U aren't a disaster for them. They're not Sega.

That's the problem I've had as well. Other than the (original) Wii, I haven't owned any Nintendo consoles. I never grew up with Zelda or Mario or any of those franchises other than occasionally playing for a little bit at a friend's house (which was usually FIFA - old FIFA - anyway). So it's hard when reading reviews because all of them are written from the perspective of someone who's followed all the Zeldas from day one. How does it compare to any other 2017 game of this type, on it's own merits, if the nostalgia and story and characters mean nothing to me? Still thinking about it.

I've never played a 3D Zelda game before. Picked up a Switch and BOTW. The game is fantastic.
I was done with open world games, was bored of the genre. However, BOTW has been a breath of fresh air for me. I'm enjoying the exploration side, find combat fun and the pace seems correct so far. I also like the music, sound effects and the overall 'Nintendo' charm to the game.

I'd definitely recommend.
