Agreed
does anyone know if any of this works with the HIVE system as i dont have the HUE
How did you get that price for the two sensors, should it not be - £41.93, with the 30% code?

Good spot - I think I had a £5 credit from customer service applied to that order...apologies for misleading. I'll edit the post.

Has anyone managed to use the sensor in a bedroom in nightlight mode but without it turning on if you are rustling in your bed?

I've tried a few things but never was happy so I just sold the sensors. Bedrooms are a no no for me.
Now I just use the hue switch and Google home

I’ve fiddled with the sensitivity of the sensor via the App and they work perfectly...
What can Philips Hue do that Ikea Tradfri can't?
An ikea tradfri motion sensor is £14, wireless dimmer switch £8, gateway bridge £25 and bulbs start at £7, so even with discounts on Hue, Tradfri is still cheaper.

Not Google compatible. Also, I believe from reviews, Philips have greater colour reproduction, and are generally higher quality.
You are also paying for a reputable brand name in the lighting space. I'm delighted with my Philips bulbs and don't mind paying a bit more for them.

Overall Hue has a better ecosystem, with various 3rd party apps and services like IFTTT.

It has lamps like Bloom, Iris and Go (and the Lightstrip), ceiling and wall lights too. The Hue Dimmer is also far superior to the IKEA one, same for the motion sensors.

Personally I think the best way to do it is get a Hue starter kit when the bulbs work out to around £35 each. Then add your bulbs from Hue, Innr and IKEA with whoever has the best bulb for their price.

Every ZigBee bulb provider has a gap in their portfolio that another can fill. I use the cheap Tradfri dimmers (rotary ones) and the warm white GU10s, my colour bulbs are Hue as they're probably the best (but never pay RRP)
I just can’t justify spending like £100 on bulbs...
Would an IKEA motion sensor or another third party one work with the Philips hue bridge?

You connect it to the bridge so the lights you use can still be controlled by the Hue bridge, then the Motion Sensor connects to the lights.

There's not as much flexibility as a Hue Motion Sensor but it's okay for something like a hallway or stairwell.
Thanks poster, was after two dimmers, so 13 odd quid is a great price!
Shame the GU10 went back up in price
