  • Amazon Echo connects to Alexa-a cloud-based voice service-to play music, make calls, set alarms and timers, ask questions, check your calendar, weather, traffic and sports scores, manage to-do and shopping lists, control compatible smart home devices, and more.
  • Just ask for a song, artist or genre from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, TuneIn and more. With multi-room music, you can play music on Echo devices in different rooms, available for Amazon Music, TuneIn and Spotify; Bluetooth not supported. Echo can also play audiobooks, radio stations, news briefings and more.
  • Call or message anyone hands-free who also has an Echo device, the Alexa App or Skype. Also, quickly connect to other Echo devices in your home using just your voice.
  • New speaker with Dolby processing that fills the room with immersive, 360° omnidirectional audio, and delivers crisp vocals, deep bass, and clear highs at louder volumes.
  • With seven microphones, beam-forming technology and noise cancellation, Echo hears you from any direction-even while music is playing.
  • Just ask Alexa to control your compatible smart lights, switches, TVs, thermostats and more
  • Alexa is always getting smarter and adding new features and skills. Just ask Alexa to request an Uber, order a pizza, get train times, and more.

Been waiting on a reasonable price reduction so I made the jump for 2 and the kids will love this in their rooms for the holidays. Thinking that I may need mental support as i expect the butt cheek and shark songs will echo through hallway without mercy. Thanks Smash 77, heat added!
I bought one at full price recently that was still in the return window. Amazon support refunded the difference 👌
Do these sound any good?

Do these sound any good?

Sound ok, plenty of volume to fill a room with nice bass but lacks in the mid sound department, but these are fantastic for the money.Have 3 of these spread over the home, great bit of kit and worth every penny and alexa is a very clever girl !!!!!!

Sounds as good as my Ultimate ears Megablast 3 and that's a £130 bluetooth speaker. You won't find a better sounding bluetooth speaker at this price range and that's without the smart features. Far better sound than the Google Home although the Home is better at answering questions.

I'm not sure it would sound better than an Ultimate Ears Wonderboom.

Would be far better than the Wonderboom I promise. That's an amazing speaker for it's size but this is several times bigger and more powerful

Nonsense. The Wonderboom is fantastic for the price.

Not saying it isn't but it's more about being fantastic for the size. I have the UE Megablast which is supposedly the companies best sounding bluetooth speaker and the full sized Echo is on par with that so it's going to be better than the Wonderboom, excellent speaker though it is. As ultra compact speakers go the Wonderboom is probably the best in class.

It is not on a par with Ultimate Ears.

That review was from 2017 when the 2nd gen speaker was just released. There were lots of complaints about sound quality before a big software update was released at the end of the year that absolutely transformed the sound & turned up the bass. I have a megablast which is UE's premium speaker and the Echo is on par with that. The Wonderboom get's good reviews because it produces good sound for it's size and price but is nowhere near as good as either the Echo or Megablast. I've heard them with my own ears as well as the JBL flip 4 and JBL charge.

Good Customer review below highlighting what an improvement the software update made. If you do buy an Echo when you first play it you will hear it pre update and be slightly disappointed as i was until you get the message she needs to install important updates and reboot.

Not convinced. I don't see how a firmware update is going to improve the sound that much. Here is a 2019 review: google.com/amp…tml

Stick with your Wonderboom if you really think that's better then.
