very.co.uk are now price matching the £69.99 seen at several other retailers, but also have a new customer offer to give £30 discount off a £60 spend, which can be used on the Amazon Echo.

The new customer discount works with any very.co.uk purchase, but I thought it worth highlighting how cheap it makes the Amazon Echo. They've also reduced the Google Smart Home Speaker to £79.00 (so £49.99 total), if you're more interested in that?

The voucher page is here: very.co.uk/vou…age

Voucher code from that page: LXJLX

You'll need to add the Echo to your basket, and when you go to checkout choose the option for "New Customer" > "Register". This will take you through a few screens to set up a credit arrangement with very.co.uk, so be sure to READ CAREFULLY.

Once your account is created make sure to put the discount code in the discount code box before clicking confirm order! I messed up on this step and had to contact them to get the code added manually.

The very.co.uk account is designed to let you spread the cost over 3 payments or 12 months without interest charges. I just wanted to pay the whole £39.99 now, and it's easy to do by going to "My Account" > "Make a Payment" and putting £39.99 in the "Another amount" box. UPDATE Or apparently there's just a pay full amount button on the checkout.

This won't be for everyone, due to the necessity of setting up a credit arrangement, but this is the cheapest way I've seen to pick up an Amazon Echo 2nd Gen so far.

I don’t really approve of any of these very deals as you could apply the £30 off to pretty much anything ( credit account )

Oh god! Shhhh! Don’t give them ideas!

I remember the bad old days when someone like Tesco would do a money off code, and all it would be on here was:

X + code = deal!
Y + code = deal!
Z + code = deal!

Too much faffing imo, especially considering it's the same price (+/- £1) …Too much faffing imo, especially considering it's the same price (+/- £1) elsewhere.

Like where?

You can pay in full directly from the payment screen, it's an option on the right hand side. You don't need to mess with 'Make a payment' later.

Sorry but cold. It's just enticing people into a credit agreement with a 30 quid promo code.

You can link the dot to a better speaker for high quality music I believe.

It's the same as all the Zoom deals, with the 10% of your first order for new customers.

I'd change your title to £39.99 with free c&c

Yes you can. Either wired or via Bluetooth. Sound quality is excellent.

Yes I've got a dot with Bluetooth speaker...........But doesn't this 2nd gen Echo have a built in hub making it a lot more useful in the future for connecting all your smart devices?

Cold. Its still 69.99. The voucher code is irrelevant. Otherwise you would have thousands of items on this site from very with the £30 off code.

You could connect it to a better speaker with bluetooth or the audio out cable

Where do I get the voucher code?

Let the submissions begin!

Seriously, though, anyone reckon there'll be a lower price than the current standard reduction next week?

I bought a Bluetooth speaker creative sound roar for my dot, they're in separate locations with great sound. If you have your music loud and the speaker is attached to the devise I imagine it would be difficult to get Alexa etc. to hear you

Looks like it doesn't its the Amazon Echo Plus that includes the Hub.

So like others have said you're probably better off getting the cheaper dot and adding a decent Bluetooth speaker

Just pair the dot with a Bluetooth speaker, problem solved.

Brilliant - children want a Google Home for Christmas. Last week £129, this week £49.

Judging by some reviews you can even use a dongle to play music on non-bluetooth speakers. That's what I'll be doing with my cinema system in the lounge.

I've heard that you can pair it with a Bluetooth speaker

Looking at buying an Echo. Still wouldn't touch Very with a bargepole.

can we please stop the NEW CUSTOMER VERY ACCOUNT deals. they are all misleading and you have to take out a credit agreement.

i think the deal of £30 off VERY with new accounts is sufficient.

How much was the mortgage????

Bargain price! Was looking at paying £57 for an echo with the echo2pack code on Amazon. This has just saved me another £17! I'll pay the credit instantly and collect from the local shop. Jobs a good one.

Its credited to your account. I now owe very £39.99 which I'll pay today at some point and most likely never buy anything from it again.
