Interesting that the E27 version is the same price but also includes a dimmer.

Great price, voted hot !
I know there have been some great deals last week but when you consider how much the hue starter pack normally is (around this price) or how old the generation 1 echo was on its own (again around this price) this is a great deal to get you started into a smart home set up

The B22 kit does as well, you can see when you scroll down there is a smaller picture of it. I think all the colour starter kits (B22, E27 and GU10) now include the dimmer, philips changed the kits about 6 months ago

Just because something is the best price right now, does not mean it is a good deal. Otherwise every single product in the world should be listed on this site at any particular time... after all, every product is being sold at its cheapest current price somewhere, right?

This is the cheapest price right now, but it is quite clearly not a "hot" deal, considering the price it's recently been selling for.

God, this site is bizarre.

Are these the version 3 bulbs?

I'm waiting for the 2x2m strip + 2xGU10 pack to be <£100 again

Looking at this: uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Phi…9HC

We see that the B22 starter kit has a 'Lowest Price' excluding events of £120.

Looking at this: uk.camelcamelcamel.com/All…rch

We see that the heather grey Echo has a current price of £69.99.

So please, explain to me how £170 for both is not a warm deal at least?

By current prices you're saving £50...

I know its not quite the same but you could get 2x2m stips at £49 each from maplin, you will receive 2x £5 vouchers which you can put towards the GU10 bulbs, thats the best deal to get what you need at the moment

Totally agree with you, and that camel link for the hue bundle is the older version without the dimmer, this hue/echo bundle is the newer version with dimmer which has never been lower than £159.99 which is also its current price on Amazon

Crazy that for just £10 more you get the latest version of the Echo and people are still not happy on this thread !!

The price of those Phillips bulbs :o. You shouldn't be visiting a site called Hot UK Deals if you're willing to drop that much on some bulbs.

It's hotukdeals not hotukcheapstuff. You can get a hot deal on a Ferrari or a Rolex (if you like such things).

I missed out on the £89 deal last week as I spent too much time procrastinating, so I jumped on this one. Heat from me.

Can confirm this is the 'Richer Colour bulbs'.

You get 3 bulbs, the Hue hub, and a Hue dimmer switch. (If you scroll down to the bundle contents section you can click through to the individual items pages)

Also, this is available at £169.99 with the Echo in Charcoal Fabric, Heather Grey Fabric, and Sandstone Fabric. For an extra £10 (£179.99) you can get it in the Oak Finish or the Walnut Finish.

£170, for me, is the right price, £100/110 for the Hue starter kit, and then £60/70 for the Echo. I am surprised they aren't trying to do a deal with the Echo Plus and then just bulbs and dimmer since the Echo Plus has the hue hub built in.

They might be the richer colours but they aren't the gen 3 bulbs which are the richest. These arrived in the post yesterday and Philips confirmed gen 2 have silver writing and gen 3 have gold. There wasn't enough information to make an informed decision to make the purchase but took the risk anyway.

Amazon have mis-sold you then. If you scroll down the page it says 'This bundle contains 2 items'. Clicking through on the Hue Bulbs section and you will see they are meant to be Gen 3.
Look at the product information and check model/part number match to what the box states: amazon.co.uk/Phi…YRM

The box will also say 'Richer Colours' in the top right, which I'm going to guess yours doesn't.

If you contact Amazon they should send you a new set out and get you to return the ones you've received.

Gen 3 is the only one branded 'Richer Colours'.

The box does say richer colours on it. The bulbs however have silver writing. I spoke to Philips who confirmed the ones with silver writing are gen 2 bulbs and the ones with gold are gen 3. The offer is no longer available so I can't see where it states these are gen 3. It doesn't matter now because I'd already bought the gen 3 starter kit. I bought this with the intention of returning the others. Upon realising the ones from Amazon were gen 2 I sent those back to the original supplier and kept the gen 3. A bit naughty but hey ho lol

Definitely seems like someone has done a swap with the bulbs then.
