thank u - you've just saved me £££

Pre-ordered! I can't wait!

I have one of these in Spain and in some ways this is the better if the two. with the full size echo you cannot stream from the echo to a speaker or Hifi. the for however has a 3.5 mm jack as well bluetooth to connect to speakers. other than the sound quality both devices have identical abilities in terms of voice recognition and smart home functionality.

if you've ordered it, you can get a head start on configuring it here

Heat added for the heads up. It looks like this is the standard price, or am I wrong?

bit of luck it will be delayed like the Amazon fire 2 you will then get £5 discount.

anyone pre ordered this? I ordered a couple a few weeks ago and looking forward to getting my hands on it this Thursday

arrives tomorrow

Mine has been dispatched, getting good use out of our Amazon Echo so decided to add a 'dot' for my home office. I have no real interest in home automation, just the ability to have voice control over music/radio selection has been enough.

Hmmm I have the Amazon Echo which works fine. Just received and tried to set up the Dot. Its very flaky but hopefully that is because everyone is creating a demand on Amazon, setting up all the shiny new Dots.

Got the DOT this evening. Setup was quick including connecting to spotify and Samsung Smartthings. Philips Hue is connected via Smartthings, so no need to set up that part again. More test follows

But I love the audio quality, good as night speaker or for background music

All good now. Dot working as well as the Echo

I got my dot yesterdsy and it's epic... Spotify integration is on point and lots of fun features...got the WeMo switch for my lamp also and it's all easy and fun to use.., not life changing but excellent fun :-)

Spotify works well, but even after installing a tonne of skills, this is not what was billed. Its worse than ok google, siri and even cortana when it come to answering questions.Initial interest from the family is waning very quickly. If my son's getting bored with it after just 2 days that tells a big story. Will play with it for a few more days, but this is most likely going back to amazon. Disappointed.

I preordered but then saw some of the 'Google Home' videos youtu.be/d19…HTU and watched their keynote
so canceled the dot. I'm an iPhone user but have Google Play Music.

The jury is still out for me. It has many flaws but lots of potential too. I think I'm going to stick with it due to having no idea when Google Home will be released in the UK.

If you have an Amazon account, you can play with Alexa for free here echosim.io

If anyone is having trouble with the echo responding, I found out mine hates being called 'Echo'.
I changed the wake up word back to 'Alexa' and it's now fine.

why are these £60 odd quid on eBay when you can get them for rrp elsewhere?
